Power Consumption Measurement Tool for Research on Open 5G and Beyond
Rozeena Ebrahim,Mla Vilakazi,Chris R. Burger,Albert A. Lysko +3 more
- 20 Sep 2023
TL;DR: The proposed test setup has been used to experimentally test the power consumption of the 5G base station component, which has been implemented on an open radio access network (RAN) server and found that certain modes are more power-hungry and may benefit from further optimisation.

Multi-wavelength study of large-scale outflows from the Circinus galaxy
Rozeena Ebrahim,Andrew W. Chen,Dmitry Prokhorov,Kshitij Thorat,Gyula I. G. Józsa,Paolo Serra +5 more
- 15 Dec 2020
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-wavelength analysis of the radio lobe structures was conducted using the available MeerKAT observations and Fermi-LAT data, which will aid in the understanding of the origin of these structures.
Software Tools for Power Consumption Monitoring of Open 5G and Beyond Research: A Review
Rozeena Ebrahim,Fhatuwani Luvhengo,Mla Vilakazi,Lusani Mamushiane,Albert A. Lysko +4 more
- 20 Sep 2023
TL;DR: The work considers experimentally probing the power consumption of a 5G base station component, which has been implemented on an open Radio Access Network (RAN) server computing platform, and finds the Turbostat software tool to be the most suitable for this use case.

Analysis of Uniformity in Steering Capability of an ESPAR Antenna
Rozeena Ebrahim,Nosipho B. Mthethwa,Albert A. Lysko +2 more
- 26 Nov 2022
TL;DR: In this article , the effect of the number of elements on the beamforming and steering capabilities of an ESPAR antenna with a single ring of parasitic elements was investigated and the results validated well against published results and provided the best possible gain over the parasitic element loads considered.
