Corrosion of molybdate intercalated hydrotalcite coating on AZ31 Mg alloy
TL;DR: A molybdate intercalated hydrotalcite (HT-MoO42−) coating with a nanosized lamellar structure was synthesized on AZ31 Mg alloy by a combination of the co-precipitation and hydrothermal processes.

Recent advances in biodegradation controls over Mg alloys for bone fracture management: A review
Ming-Shi Song,Ming-Shi Song,Rong-Chang Zeng,Yun-Fei Ding,Rachel W. Li,Mark Alan Easton,Ivan S. Cole,Nick Birbilis,Xiaobo Chen,Xiaobo Chen +9 more
TL;DR: The critical criteria and the state-of-the-art strategies for controlling the degradation process of Mg alloys are reported and future developments of biodegradable Mg and its alloys systems with satisfactory specifications for clinical trials and deployment are discussed.

Degradation mechanism of micro-arc oxidation coatings on biodegradable Mg-Ca alloys: The influence of porosity
TL;DR: In this paper, the morphology, porosity and corrosion resistance of MAO coatings on as-extruded Mg-Ca alloys were analyzed using SEM, XRD, EDS and electrochemical tests.

Effect of the second phases on corrosion behavior of the Mg-Al-Zn alloys
TL;DR: In this article, the role of different second phases in the corrosion processes of Mg-Al-Zn alloys was investigated, and it was revealed that the second phases precipitated both in the Mg matrix and along the grain boundaries and acted as micro-cathode, accelerating corrosion dissolution of the substrate.
