[Biofilms as a mode of existence of bacteria in external environment and host body: the phenomenon, genetic control, and regulation systems of development].
TL;DR: This work considers the structural organization of biofilms, factors affecting initiation of the biofilm formation, differential expression of bacterial genes at various stages of theBiofilm development and their regulation, and the significance of studies in this field for medicine, in particular, for prevention and protection against pathogenic bacteria.

["Quorum sensing" or social behavior of bacteria].
TL;DR: The review deals with the data of literature on the role of the "quorum sensing" (QS) system ensuring the social behavior of bacteria in the regulation of virulence genes and the mechanisms of the action of these systems in Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Biofilms of pathogenic bacteria and their role in chronization of infectious process. The search for the means to control biofilms
TL;DR: The discussion is focused on the role of biofilms in chronization of infectious process, enhanced resistance of biofilm organisms to antibiotics and its underlying mechanisms, and approaches to the search for new means for biofilm control during chronic infections.

Renal calculus microflora in urolithiasis and search for agents of control of biofilms formed by uropathogenic bacteria
Tolordava Ér,Tiganova Ig,Alekseeva Nv,Stepanova Tv,Terekhov Aa,Egamberdiev Dk,N S Mulabaev,Shevliagina Nv,Didenko Lv,Romanova IuM +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a model of formation of biofilms in vitro on sterile renal calculi was developed, and candidate agents reducing the biofilm forming ability were tested and compared with urine microflora obtained before operation in patients with urolithiasis.

Influence of tumor necrosis factor on the growth of vegetative and nonculturable forms of Salmonella
Romanova IuM,Alekseeva Nv,Stepanova Tv,Razumikhin Mv,Shilov Ia,Tomova As,Alexander L. Gintsburg +6 more
TL;DR: The multiplication rate, in vivo and in vitro, of Salmonella vegetative and uncultivable forms with mutation in gene pqi did not change after the incubation of the cells with cytokine, indicative of an important role played by the product of this gene in the process of the interaction of bacteria with cytokines.
