TL;DR: Results are presented of a retrospective audit of admissions to the Intensive Care Unit of Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, Malawi, which is a tertiary referral facility, to describe the profile of admissions and treatment outcomes of the admissions and identify main causes of mortality in ICU of the facility.
Compliance of state registered nurses to nursing standards during practice in tertiary facilities in Malawi
TL;DR: Results show that nurses in all the 4 central hospitals partially complied with assessment and planning standards, however, regarding systematic and ongoing evaluation of patients’ condition only Mzuzu Central hospital partially complied while the rest of the facilities were not compliant.

TL;DR: There is a need for ongoing assessment of parental distress and integration of appropriate interventions within the NICU settings and the need for larger scope, multi-center studies at an international level to build on and broaden the level of knowledge on how to better support families and reduce parental distress in the NICu.
