Drowsiness/alertness algorithm development and validation using synchronized EEG and cognitive performance to individualize a generalized model.
Robin Johnson,Djordje Popovic,Richard G. Olmstead,Maja Stikic,Daniel J. Levendowski,Chris Berka +5 more
TL;DR: The results indicated that an EEG-based algorithm, individualized using a series of brief "identification" tasks, was able to effectively track performance decrements associated with sleep deprivation.

Chris Berka,Daniel J. Levendowski,Philip R. Westbrook,Gene Davis,Robin Johnson,Djordje Popovic +5 more
- 14 May 2009
TL;DR: An efficient, objective, flexible and easily deployable system for conducting evaluations of mental and physiological state and recommending individualized treatment to improve said state is described in this paper, which is based on commensurate measurement of mental functions, levels of stress and anxiety, and/or biologically active molecules such as neurotransmitters, immune markers including cytokines and hormones.

EEG-derived estimators of present and future cognitive performance
Maja Stikic,Robin Johnson,Daniel J. Levendowski,Djordje Popovic,Richard G. Olmstead,Chris Berka +5 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that EEG can be used to predict gross-performance degradations 5–15 min in advance, and the models were able to consistently estimate “unacceptable” performance throughout the entire 3CVT.
Psychologically informed services for homeless people
