IDH1 mutations are not found in cartilaginous tumours other than central and periosteal chondrosarcomas and enchondromas.
Stephen Damato,Mohammed Alorjani,Fiona Bonar,Stanley W. McCarthy,Stephen R. Cannon,Paul O'Donnell,Roberto Tirabosco,M Fernanda Amary,Adrienne M. Flanagan +8 more
TL;DR: Napsin A expression in SH seems to further support the most recent and accepted hypothesis that this benign and polymorphic pulmonary tumour differentiates towards the peripheral respiratory epithelium.
GNAS mutations are not detected in parosteal and low-grade central osteosarcomas
Carolina Salinas-Souza,Carlos De Andrea,Michel Bihl,Michal Kovac,Nischalan Pillay,Tim Forshew,Alice Gutteridge,Hongtao Ye,M Fernanda Amary,Roberto Tirabosco,Silvia Regina Caminada de Toledo,Daniel Baumhoer,Adrienne M. Flanagan +12 more
TL;DR: The findings therefore support prior observations that GNAS mutations are highly specific for fibrous dysplasia and occur rarely, if ever, in parosteal and other low-grade osteosarcomas.
Osseointegration of retrieved 3D-printed, off-the-shelf acetabular implants.
Lorenzo Dall’Ava,Harry Hothi,Johann Henckel,Anna Di Laura,Roberto Tirabosco,Antti Eskelinen,John A. Skinner,Alister Hart,Alister Hart +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the main advantage of 3D-printed, off-the-shelf acetabular implants is the potential to promote enhanced bony fixation due to their controllable porous structure.
Frequency of Mouse Double Minute 2 (MDM2) and Mouse Double Minute 4 (MDM4) amplification in parosteal and conventional osteosarcoma subtypes.
Laure Alice Duhamel,Hongtao Ye,Dina Halai,Bernadine Idowu,Nadege Presneau,Roberto Tirabosco,Adrienne M. Flanagan +6 more
TL;DR: The detection of MDM2 amplification in 20 of 24 parosteal OS supports previous reports that this is a recurrent genetic event in this subtype, and the finding that this drug can induce cell cycle arrest in vitro in the non-MDM2-amplified cell line U2OS implies that a subset of central OS may benefit from this treatment.
Hyalinised fibrocartilaginous tumour of bone: probable new histological entity with FOSL1 gene rearrangement
