Muresan Alexandru,Dan D. Micu,Jurj Dacian Ioan,Roberto Andolfato +3 more
- 01 Oct 2018
TL;DR: An overview of the current state of art on the subject of Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) technology is presented in order to understand the necessity of the grounding grid design models and to identify a suitable model technique for the GIS assemble.

Investigating the effect of several model configurations on the transient response of gas-insulated substation during fault events using an electromagnetic field theory approach
TL;DR: The paper aimed to provide an accurate assessment of the GIS holistic transient response through an electromagnetic field theory (EMF) approach and investigated several simplifications of the computational domain considering different gas-insulated substation configurations in order to identify a suitable modeling approach without any unnecessary computational effort.

Novel electromagnetic field theory approach applied to gas insulated substation transient behaviour during lightning surge impulse
Muresan Alexandru,Levente Czumbil,Alexis Polycarpou,Hassan Nouri,Roberto Andolfato,Dan D. Micu +5 more
- 01 Jan 2021
TL;DR: In this article, a CAD three-dimensional approach is proposed and endorsed by a successful validation process using two different software packages based on distinct analytical hypothesis: electromagnetic field and circuit theory approach respectively.
