Incidence rates and case fatality rates of portal vein thrombosis and Budd-Chiari Syndrome
Walter Ageno,Francesco Dentali,Fulvio Pomero,Luigi Fenoglio,Alessandro Squizzato,Giovanni Pagani,Roberta Re,Matteo Bonzini +7 more
TL;DR: A large epidemiologic study on hospital admissions for portal vein thrombosis (PVT) and the Budd-Chiari syndrome between 2002 and 2012 in Northwestern Italy confirmed the low incidence of BCS and found the incidence of PVT higher than previously reported.
Definition of major bleeding: Prognostic classification
Laura Franco,Cecilia Becattini,Jan Beyer-Westendorf,Simone Vanni,Cinzia Nitti,Roberta Re,Giorgia Manina,Fulvio Pomero,Roberto Cappelli,Alberto Conti,Giancarlo Agnelli +10 more
TL;DR: In patients on anticoagulant treatment, the major bleeding (MB) definition released by the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) is widely accepted, but this definition identifies MBs with highly variable short‐term risk of death.

The complexity of patients hospitalized in internal medicine wards evaluated by FADOI-COMPLIMED score(s). A hypothetical approach
Erminio Bonizzoni,Gualberto Gussoni,Giancarlo Agnelli,Raffaele Antonelli Incalzi,Moira Bonfanti,Franco Mastroianni,Marco Candela,Carlotta Franchi,Stefania Frasson,Antonio Greco,Micaela La Regina,Roberta Re,Giorgio Vescovo,Mauro Campanini +13 more
TL;DR: The FADOI-Complimed Score(s) is a new tool useful for the routine evaluation of complexity in medical patients, simple to use and taking around 10 minutes to complete.

Clinically relevant non-major bleeding with oral anticoagulants: non-major may not be trivial.
Laura Franco,Cecilia Becattini,Simone Vanni,Rodolfo Sbrojavacca,Cinzia Nitti,Giorgia Manina,Luca Masotti,Fulvio Pomero,Sergio Cattinelli,Roberto Cappelli,Roberta Re,Giancarlo Agnelli +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a prospective, observational, multicentre, cohort study was carried out to assess the clinical characteristics, management and outcomes of non-major bleeding occurring in patients while on oral anticoagulants.

Pulmonary embolism prognostic factors and length of hospital stay: A cohort study.
Marco P. Donadini,Francesco Dentali,Marco Castellaneta,Paola Gnerre,Micaela La Regina,Luca Masotti,Filippo Pieralli,Fulvio Pomero,Roberta Re,Luigina Guasti,Walter Ageno,Alessandro Squizzato +11 more
TL;DR: The median duration of hospital stay was generally long and not influenced by single parameters of PESi or common prognostic factors, and the difference of one day between the low- and high-risk groups according to simplified PESI was not clinically significant.
