TL;DR: Parents with illicit drug dependence problems showed a greater number of clinical aspects to their children’s psychological development than parents with alcohol addiction, as the proportion of this group was (CBCL: withdrawn); social problems; thought problems; delinquent behavior; externalizing; and total problems.

TL;DR: Parents with an addiction to illicit drugs caused substantially harm to the psychological development of their children than parents with only an alcohol addiction, and this effect was increased for younger children, who later developed psychiatric disorders or engaged in risky behaviors.

TL;DR: A case-control study of 305 children and adolescents (4 to 18 years old) who were exposed to addiction was undertaken in this article, where 60% of the subjects were children of fathers with alcohol and drug problems and 40% were children without addiction problems.
