New Polyhydroxylated Pyrrolidines Derived from Enantiopure 3,6-Dihydro-2H-1,2-oxazines
TL;DR: Samarium diiodide-induced N-O bond cleavage generated 1,4-amino alcohols which were recyclized to polyhydroxylated pyrrolidines which are potential glycosidase inhibitors.

Stereodivergent Syntheses of Highly Substituted Enantiopure 4‐Alkoxy‐3,6‐dihydro‐2H‐1,2‐oxazines by Addition of Lithiated Alkoxyallenes to Carbohydrate‐Derived Aldonitrones
Matthias Helms,Wolfgang Schade,Robert Pulz,Toshiko Watanabe,Toshiko Watanabe,Ahmed Al-Harrasi,Lubor Fišera,Iva Hlobilova,G. Zahn,Hans-Ulrich Reißig +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for diastereoselective chain elongation of carbohydrate derivatives, affording stereodefined precursors of aminopolyols and other highly functionalized compounds, is presented.

Synthesis of New Enantiopure Bicyclic 1,2‐Oxazines by Addition of Lithiated Methoxyallene to Chiral Cyclic Nitrones
TL;DR: In this article, a highly diastereoselective addition of lithiated methoxyallene 3 to chiral cyclic nitrones 1 and 2 provided N-hydroxy pyrrolidines 4 and 5, respectively, which cyclized to bicyclic 1,2-oxazines 6 and 7 by simple stirring in dilute CH2Cl2 solution.

Acid-Induced and Reductive Transformations of Enantiopure 3,6-Dihydro-2H-1,2-oxazines – Synthesis of Dideoxyamino Carbohydrate Derivatives†
TL;DR: In this paper, a short and stereocontrolled route to amino carbohydrate derivatives with 1,2-oxazines as crucial relay compounds was established, which can be regarded as protected 4-amino-1,4-dideoxyhex-3-ulose derivatives.
