Phase I-II Trial of Cetuximab, Capecitabine, Oxaliplatin, and Radiotherapy as Preoperative Treatment in Rectal Cancer
Claus Rödel,Dirk Arnold,Matthias Hipp,Torsten Liersch,Kathrin Dellas,Igors Iesalnieks,Robert Michael Hermann,Florian Lordick,Axel Hinke,Werner Hohenberger,Rolf Sauer +10 more
TL;DR: The results of the study have shown that cetuximab can be combined safely with capecitabine and oxaliplatin plus RT, and the low pathologic complete response rate achieved should stimulate additional preclinical investigations to establish the best sequence of triple combinations.

Testicular dose and hormonal changes after radiotherapy of rectal cancer
Robert Michael Hermann,Karsten Henkel,Hans Christiansen,Hilke Vorwerk,Andrea Hille,Clemens F. Hess,Heinz Schmidberger +6 more
TL;DR: No correlation could be found between changes of hormones and doses to the testis, probably due to the low number of evaluated patients, and larger studies are needed to establish the correlation between testicular radiation dose and hormonal changes in this group of patients.

A disease‐specific enteral nutrition formula improves nutritional status and functional performance in patients with head and neck and esophageal cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy: Results of a randomized, controlled, multicenter trial
Rainer Fietkau,Victor Lewitzki,Thomas Kuhnt,Tobias Hölscher,CF Hess,Bernhard Berger,Thomas Wiegel,Claus Rödel,Marcus Niewald,Robert Michael Hermann,Dorota Lubgan +10 more
TL;DR: In patients with head and neck and esophageal tumors, nutritional status may deteriorate during concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and the influence of enteral nutrition enriched with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and DHA on body composition and nutritional and functional status is investigated.

x-Irradiation in Rat Liver: Consequent Upregulation of Hepcidin and Downregulation of Hemojuvelin and Ferroportin-1 Gene Expression
Hans Christiansen,Nadeem Sheikh,Bernhard Saile,Felix Reuter,Margret Rave-Fränk,Robert Michael Hermann,Jozsef Dudas,Andrea Hille,Clemens F. Hess,Giuliano Ramadori +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the effect of x-irradiation of rat liver and isolated rat hepatocytes on hepcidin, hemojuvelin, and ferroportin-1 expression.

Toxicity of daily low dose cisplatin in radiochemotherapy for locally advanced head and neck cancer
Hendrik A. Wolff,Tobias Overbeck,Ralph M.W. Roedel,Robert Michael Hermann,Markus K. A. Herrmann,Tereza Kertesz,Hilke Vorwerk,Andrea Hille,Christoph Matthias,Clemens F. Hess,Hans Christiansen +10 more
TL;DR: Chemoradiation with daily-low-dose-cisplatin to be feasible with advantage of low acute and chronic toxicity and should be evaluated in future clinical trials.
