Clinical Evidence of Herbal Drugs As Perpetrators of Pharmacokinetic Drug Interactions
TL;DR: The available evidence indicates that, at commonly recommended doses, none of these herbs act as potent or moderate inhibitors or inducers of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes or P-glycoprotein (ABCB1) in Echinacea, garlic, gingko, ginseng, goldenseal, and milk thistle.
Plasma Kinetics, Metabolism, and Urinary Excretion of Alpha‐Lipoic Acid following Oral Administration in Healthy Volunteers
TL;DR: The results of the present study revealed that urinary excretion of alpha‐lipoic acid and five of its main metabolites does not play a significant role in the elimination ofalpha‐lipOic acid, and biliary excretion, further electrochemically inactive degradation products, and complete utilization of alpha-lipoIC acid as a primary substrate in the endogenous metabolism should be considered.

Dose-proportionality of oral thioctic acid--coincidence of assessments via pooled plasma and individual data.
Kerstin Breithaupt-Grögler,Georg Niebch,Edith Schneider,Katharina Erb,Robert Hermann,Henning Blume,Barbara Schug,Gustav G Belz +7 more
TL;DR: The dose-linearity and proportionality of pharmacokinetic parameters could be demonstrated on an intra-individual basis and for the group geometric means and an analysis of pooled plasma samples proved to be a suitable means for deriving reliable first-sight results prior to individual assessments.

TL;DR: Pulmonary drug delivery remains an area of future innovation in the effective treatment of pulmonary diseases as well as the systemic delivery of systemically active complex drugs.

Influence of food intake on the bioavailability of thioctic acid enantiomers
TL;DR: Whether a pharmacokinetic interaction between food and TA takes place is investigated in diabetic patients with diabetes mellitus.
