Intrinsic tolerance in autologous collagen-induced arthritis is generated by CD152-dependent CD4+ suppressor cells.
TL;DR: It is determined that both tolerance and disease resistance were CD152-dependent as demonstrated by Ab treatment experiments, which could have relevance for RA because the transgenic mice used express the same CII epitope in cartilage as humans and because autoreactive T cells, specific for this epitope, are present intransgenic mice as well as in patients with RA.

Maintained allogeneic pregnancy in rats depleted of T cytotoxic/suppressor cells by OX8 monoclonal antibody treatment.
Ragnar Mattsson,Rikard Holmdahl +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that OX8 positive T "suppressor" cells do not play an important role in the maintenance of the fetal-placental unit.

IL-21 and autoimmune disease - hypothesis and reality?
TL;DR: A study in this issue of the European Journal of Immunology, provides a new twist in the story as it is now shown that IL‐21 and/or IL-21R play no role in Th17 development or autoimmune inflammatory disease.

A microELISA useful for determination of protein A-binding monoclonal antibodies.
Anders Larsson,Rikard Holmdahl +1 more
TL;DR: A sandwich-ELISA for determination of the protein A binding capacity of antibodies is developed, which utilizes microtitre plates coated with protein A, and labeled chicken antibodies for detection of bound antibody.

Qixing Li,Yanpeng Li,Bibo Liang,Ruiyuan Xu,Bingze Xu,Erik Lönnblom,Hui Feng,Jing'an Bai,Roma Stawikowska,Changrong Ge,Aiping Lu,Gregg B. Fields,Lianbo Xiao,Rikard Holmdahl +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the occurrence and frequency of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) to cyclic citrullated type II collagen (COL2) epitope with a capacity to bind joint cartilage was investigated.
