Patent
Nonwoven multicomponent polymeric fabric and method for making same
Richard Daniel Pike,Brown Kurtis Lee,Gwaltney Sharon Watkins,Thomas Alan Hershberger,Scott David Siegel +4 more
- 21 Aug 1992
TL;DR: In this paper, a process for making nonwoven fabric including the steps of meltspinning continuous multicomponent polymeric filaments, drawing the multicomponents, at least partially quenching the multic-component filaments so that the multic component components have latent helical crimp, activating the latent helical crimp and thereafter, forming the crimped continuous multic component filaments into a first non-worn fabric web.

Fine denier fibers and fabrics made therefrom
Richard Daniel Pike,Philip Anthony Sasse,Edward Jason White +2 more
- 29 May 1996
TL;DR: In this article, a splittable conjugate fiber containing at least two incompatible polymers that are arranged in distinct segments across the cross section of the fiber, wherein the segments are continuous along the length of fiber.

Patent
Superfine microfiber nonwoven web
Richard Daniel Pike
- 15 Nov 1996
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a melt-blown fiber web having at least two groups of fibers, wherein each group of the fibers has a distinct cross-sectional configuration and at least one of the polymer components is hydrophilic.

Patent
Compaction-free method of increasing the integrity of a nonwoven web
Billy Dean Arnold,Samuel Edward Marmon,Richard Daniel Pike,Stephen Harding Primm,Lawrence James Romano,Philip Anthony Sasse +5 more
- 22 Dec 1994
TL;DR: In this article, a process which comprises the step of subjecting a just produced spunbond web to a high flow rate, heated stream of air across substantially the width of the web to very lightly bond the fibers of the Web together is described.

Nonwoven filter media
Richard Daniel Pike,John Joseph Lassig,Peter W Shipp,Barbara Williams +3 more
- 04 Nov 1994
TL;DR: In this paper, a lofty filter medium for filtering fluid-borne particles, which comprises a nonwoven fiber web of crimped fibers selected from the group consisting of spunbond fibers and staple fibers, was presented.
