Amygdala Reactivity and Anterior Cingulate Habituation Predict Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Maintenance After Acute Civilian Trauma.
Jennifer S. Stevens,Ye Ji Kim,Isaac R. Galatzer-Levy,Renuka Reddy,Timothy D. Ely,Charles B. Nemeroff,Lauren A. Hudak,Tanja Jovanovic,Barbara O. Rothbaum,Kerry J. Ressler +9 more
TL;DR: Findings point to neural signatures of risk for maintaining PTSD symptoms after trauma exposure, specifically, chronic symptoms were predicted by amygdala hyperreactivity, and poor recovery was predicted by a failure to maintain ventral anterior cingulate cortex activation in response to fearful stimuli.

Two weeks of predatory stress induces anxiety-like behavior with co-morbid depressive-like behavior in adult male mice
Jillybeth Burgado,Constance S. Harrell,Darrell Eacret,Renuka Reddy,Christopher J. Barnum,MariadeLourdes Tansey,Andrew H. Miller,Huichen Wang,Gretchen N. Neigh +8 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that 15 exposures to this innovative predatory stress paradigm are sufficient to elicit robust anxiety-like behaviors with evidence of co-morbid depressive-like behavior, as well as changes in cognitive behavior in male mice.

Microglial activation occurs in the absence of anxiety-like behavior following microembolic stroke in female, but not male, rats
TL;DR: The data presented suggest that males may be more behaviorally susceptible to the effects of microembolic stroke and further illustrate a dissociation between neuroinflammation and behavior in females.
Psychological and psychobiological responses to immediate early intervention in the emergency department: Case report of one-session exposure therapy for the prevention of PTSD.
Loren M. Post,Vasiliki Michopoulos,Jennifer S. Stevens,Renuka Reddy,Jessica Maples,Jessica R. Morgan,Alex O. Rothbaum,Tanja Jovanovic,Kerry J. Ressler,Barbara O. Rothbaum +9 more
- 03 Apr 2017
TL;DR: The current findings demonstrate psychophysiological extinction serving as a prognostic indicator of treatment response for PTSD early intervention to be an avenue to explore in future systematic research.

Neuroinflammation and Behavior in HIV-1 Transgenic Rats Exposed to Chronic Adolescent Stress
Sydney A. Rowson,Constance S. Harrell,Mandakh Bekhbat,Apoorva Gangavelli,Matthew J. Wu,Sean D. Kelly,Renuka Reddy,Gretchen N. Neigh +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the presence of HIV-1 proteins during development leads to alterations in behavioral and neuroinflammatory endpoints that are not further impacted by concurrent chronic adolescent stress.
