This study conveys preclinical healthcare professions students' sentiments at 14 universities during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Essays about students' thoughts and experiences were thematically sorted and revealed a variety of sentiments spanning from positive (e.g., pride, respect) to the more negative (e.g., anxiety, guilt, disappointment, anger). Themes revealed respect for the healthcare profession, but also the realization of its limitations, sacrifices, and risks. Healthcare profession educators need to be aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected students emotionally and may have long-term effects on the global healthcare profession. This study can serve as a historic documentation of how this generation of students felt and adds to the literature on how the pandemic affected the healthcare profession.

An Adapted Hybrid Model for Hands-On Practice on Disaster and Military Medicine Education in Undergraduate Medical Students During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

There are many ways to construct ecological civilization, and education plays a fundamental role in the construction of ecological civilization. This article mainly researches the development of college mental health education courses based on the ecological experience model. In the specific method of index extraction, a combination of comprehensive method and factor decomposition is adopted. On the one hand, the comprehensive method is used for the primary selection of indicators. On the other hand, on the basis of extensive research and acquisition of a large amount of information and expert interviews, factor decomposition is used. In this article, the method of simple valuation weight is directly adopted. The ecological diversity of the evaluation subject should consider the ecological subject in many aspects, including the learning subject student, the teaching subject teacher and the teaching carrier. The data shows that about 60% of students show a recognized attitude towards college mental health education courses. The results show that the college mental health education course based on the ecological experience model promotes the construction of students' environmental awareness and the cultivation of environmental behavior ability.

Disaster mental health (DMH), also referred to as disaster behavioral health, and crisis intervention more broadly, is a significant, yet relatively nonstandardized response system in the United States. Higher education can play a critical role in shifting understanding of DMH, its place within emergency management, and skills building among students. With the increased need for qualified DMH practitioners growing, the academy is uniquely positioned to train students as they become our future responders. Movement toward standardized curriculum and certification programs within schools of social work and emergency management can alleviate lack of knowledge and training as well as better prepare emergency managers and behavioral health professionals to respond to the emotional and mental wellbeing of those impacted by disasters (natural or human-caused).
