Phospholipid Membrane Transport and Associated Diseases
TL;DR: This review will focus on phospholipid function, metabolism, non-vesicular transport, and associated diseases, and an important advance in this small cytosolic gap are lipid transfer proteins (LTPs), which accelerate and modulate the distribution of phospholips in other organelles.
Mitofusin-2 induced by exercise modifies lipid droplet-mitochondria communication, promoting fatty acid oxidation in male mice with NAFLD.
Juan Carlos Bórquez,Francisco Díaz-Castro,Francisco Pino-de la Fuente,Karla Espinoza,Ana María Figueroa,Inma Martínez-Ruíz,Vanessa Hernández,Iliana López-Soldado,Raúl Ventura,Joan Carles Domingo,Marta Bosch,Alba Fajardo,David Sebastian,Alejandra Espinosa,Albert Pol,Antonio Zorzano,Víctor Cortés,María Isabel Hernández-Alvarez,Rodrigo Troncoso +18 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that aerobic exercise has beneficial effects in murine NAFLD models by lessening the interactions between hepatic LDs and mitochondria, and by decreasing LD size, correlating with a reduced severity of NAFLD.

Effects of Aerobic Exercise in Hepatic Lipid Droplet-Mitochondria interaction in Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Juan Carlos Bórquez,Francisco Díaz-Castro,Francisco Pino-de la Fuente,Karla Espinoza,Ana María Figueroa,Inma Martínez-Ruíz,Vanessa Hernández,I. López-Soldado,Raúl Ventura,Alejandra Espinosa,Víctor Cortés,María Isabel Hernández-Alvarez,Rodrigo Troncoso +12 more
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of exercise on hepatic lipid droplet (LD)-mitochondria interaction in non-alcoholic fatty liver (NASH) and non-hepatic tissues were investigated.
Decreased expression of mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases causes downregulation of OXPHOS subunits in type 2 diabetic muscle
I. López-Soldado,Adrian Gabriel Torres,Raúl Ventura,Inma Martínez-Ruíz,Angels Díaz-Ramos,Evarist Planet,Diane Cooper,Agnieszka Pazderska,Krzysztof Wanic,Declan O'Hanlon,Donal J. O’Gorman,Teresa Carbonell,Lluís Ribas de Pouplana,John J. Nolan,Antonio Zorzano,María Isabel Hernández-Alvarez +15 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors identify the existence of alterations in the expression of mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (mt-aaRSs) in skeletal muscle from two different forms of T2D: early-onset type 2 diabetes (YT2) and the classical form of the disease (OT2).
