Comparing Different Resampling Methods in Predicting Students’ Performance Using Machine Learning Techniques
Ramin Ghorbani,Rouzbeh Ghousi +1 more
TL;DR: This paper attempts to compare various resampling techniques to handle the imbalanced data problem while predicting students’ performance using two different datasets, and the Random Forest classifier has achieved the best result among all other models while using SVM-SMOTE as a resamplings method.
A New Hybrid Predictive Model to Predict the Early Mortality Risk in Intensive Care Units on a Highly Imbalanced Dataset
TL;DR: This paper aims to introduce a new hybrid predictive model using the Genetic Algorithm as a feature selection method and a new ensemble classifier based on the combination of Stacking and Boosting ensemble methods to create an early mortality prediction model on a highly imbalanced dataset.

Location of compressed natural gas stations using multi-objective flow refueling location model in the two-way highways: A case study in Iran
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a two-step phase method to locate the CNG stations in the two-way highways, where the first phase is to determine the best candidate location for gas fuel stations and the second stage is to develop a multi-objective flow refueling location model with the aim of maximizing the traffic flow of the vehicles in twoway highways and reducing the cost of constructing fuel stations.

Effect of liquid sheet and gas streams characteristics on the instability of a hollow cone spray using an improved linear instability analysis
TL;DR: In this article, the instability study of a swirling annular liquid sheet exposed to inner and outer gas streams is represented in the form of a three-dimensional flow for the liquid sheet and a two-dimensional fluid flow for inner and outside gas streams.

Implementation of Linear Stability Theory on Hollow Cone-shaped Liquid Sheet
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface instability of a swirling liquid sheet emanating from a centrifugal injector in presence of external and internal gas flows is studied, and the linear stability theory is implemented on a coneshaped liquid sheet for different cone angles.
