Catalyst-Free Plasma Enhanced Growth of Graphene from Sustainable Sources.
Mohan V. Jacob,Rajdeep Singh Rawat,Bo Ouyang,Kateryna Bazaka,D. Sakthi Kumar,Dai Taguchi,Mitsumasa Iwamoto,Ram Neupane,Oomman K. Varghese +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a fast and sustainable bottom-up process to grow large area high quality graphene films without the aid of any catalyst is reported, and the as-fabricated graphene films yielded a stable contact angle of 135°, indicating their potential application in very high hydrophobic coatings.
Magnetic Properties and Photocatalytic Applications of 2D Sheets of Nonlayered Manganese Telluride by Liquid Exfoliation

TL;DR: The metal tellurides are highly sought after for energy and spintronic applications much of which is owed to its catalytic and magnetic properties as discussed by the authors. But they are difficult to obtain and expensive.

Tuning and fine morphology control of natural resource-derived vertical graphene
Surjith Alancherry,Mohan V. Jacob,Karthika Prasad,Jickson Joseph,Olha Bazaka,Ram Neupane,Oomman K. Varghese,Oleg Baranov,Shuyan Xu,Igor Levchenko,Igor Levchenko,Kateryna Bazaka +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental and simulation insight into the formation of graphene structures is provided by an ad hoc model based on a large number of interacting elemental processes to ensure a deeper insight into processes which cannot be directly measured and assessed in the experiments, such as relative densities of adsorbed species and density of ion current at the nanostructures.

Nanoporous WO3 films synthesized by tuning anodization conditions for photoelectrochemical water oxidation
Tao Zhang,Tao Zhang,Maggie Paulose,Ram Neupane,Lilly A. Schaffer,D. B. Rana,Jinzhan Su,Liejin Guo,Oomman K. Varghese +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a strategy was proposed to fabricate nanostructured tungsten oxide films using anodic oxidation of Tungsten and their performance as photoanodes for PEC water splitting.
