A direction indicator placed on one site of a sorting block indicates, for a given good, the direction towards a nominated slot through which the good is to be placed in the block. This arrangement makes it possible for the hauler to immediately put a good into a nominated slot without looking around at sorting blocks at large, which will lead to the improvement of work efficiency. Moreover, because this will moderate the burden imposed on the hauler, the number of wrongly hauled goods would be greatly reduced. If a good is passed through a wrong slot, it is recognized by a sensor and then an alarming means is activated to generate a buzzing sound or a blinking light to alarm. This arrangement will make it possible to greatly reduce the number of wrongly hauled goods. In association with the entry of every good, the name of the provider, as well as the name of the manufacturer of the good, the property of the good and the number of its scheduled input, is given because the provider can feed his name through an input feeding means. This arrangement will make it possible to efficiently manage inflow goods according to the name of providers, simply dependent on identification codes generally attached to goods such as a JAN code or ITF code.

System for sorting commercial articles and method therefor

A method and apparatus are provided for sorting items to a plurality of sort destinations. The items are loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles follow a track that guides the delivery vehicles to the sort destinations, which are positioned along the track. Once at the appropriate sort destination, the delivery vehicle ejects the item to the sort destination and returns to receive another item to be delivered.

Method and apparatus for sorting items

A sortation system includes a track arrangement and a series of carriers which are movable on the track arrangement, such as by a roller chain or the like. A series of sort stations are provided at various locations along the track arrangement, and items are placed into the carriers at an induction station. Each carrier is programmed at the induction station with a destination sort station, according to the identity of the item carried by the carrier. Each sort station has a unique identification arrangement, such as a sort station module which emits a sort station identification signal which is received by the carriers as the carriers are moved toward the sort stations. If the sort station identification signal matches the destination identification programmed into the carrier, a trip mechanism associated with the sort station is activated so as to discharge the item from the carrier. The carrier is then reset and transported to the induction station for receiving another item to be sorted. If the sort station identification signal does not match the destination identification of the carrier, the carrier advances to the next sort station until the destination sort station is reached.

Passenger and item tracking with system alerts

A feeding system and method for placing a plurality of objects within a single designated destination area of a sorting system to increase the throughput rate of the system. The disclosed sorting system includes a plurality of carriages movable under the control of a programmable controller between the loading and unloading stations of the sorting system, each carriage carrying a tilt tray. The geographic destination of each of the objects to be placed on a tray, as well as a dimension of each of the objects to be placed on a tray, is determined by an optical scanner and a measuring device. The controller uses the dimension information to determine whether more than one object having the same geographic destination may be placed on the same tray. The invention is adaptable for use with other types of sorting systems.

A scanner is provided for scanning an identification-code disposed on the article. The scanner is coupled to a controller which determines the selected destination point using the information obtained by the scanner from the identification-code disposed on the article.

System for sorting articles using a double carrying tray

Le risque de carcinome médullaire thyroïdien (CMT) chez les patients atteints de néoplasie endocrinienne multiple de type 2 (NEM2) justifie une thyroïdectomie prophylactique dont l’âge dépend du sous-type de mutation et de la calcitonine. L’objectif principal de cette étude était de décrire les complications après une thyroïdectomie à visée prophylactique chez les enfants porteurs de NEM2. Le devenir d’une cohorte multicentrique de patients consécutifs porteurs de NEM2 traités par thyroïdectomie à visée prophylactique avant l’âge de 15 ans entre 2010 et 2020 a été analysé. Parmi les 63 patients inclus, il y avait 54 NEM2A, 4 NEM2B et 5 FMTC, avec 57 % de mutation du codon 634, un sex-ratio de 0,97 et un âge médian de 4 ans (IC 4–6 ans). Une hypercalcitoninémie initiale était observée (11–133 pg/mL) chez 27 (43 %) patients. 21 patients (33 %) présentaient un CMT le plus souvent microscopique. Un envahissement ganglionnaire était retrouvé chez 2 enfants (3 %). 23 patients (37 %) ont présenté une complication postopératoire avec une hypoparathyroïdie dans 91 % des cas, permanente chez 11 patients (17 %). L’hypoparathyroïdie était plus fréquente chez les enfants < 5 ans. Après une durée de suivi médiane de 5,7 ans, un seul patient présentait une persistance biologique du CMT. La thyroïdectomie à visée prophylactique permet d’éviter la survenue d’un CMT incurable chez les patients porteurs de NEM2. Elle expose néanmoins à des complications, plus fréquentes chez les enfants de jeune âge. L’indication chirurgicale doit tenir compte de la mutation, la calcitoninémie, l’âge du patient et aussi du risque de complications. 

Devenir des enfants traités par thyroïdectomie à visée prophylactique dans le cadre d’une NEM2 (étude du GTE)

Le syndrome de résistance aux hormones thyroïdiennes β (RHTβ) est causé par des variants génétique pathogènes présent à l’état hétérozygote au niveau du gène du récepteur β aux hormones thyroïdiennes (THRB). La symptomatologie est très variable d’un individu à l’autre, ce qui a conduit classiquement à considérer qu’il n’existe pas de corrélation génotype–phénotype dans ce syndrome. La très grande majorité des variants de THRB rapportés sont des variants faux-sens, dans cette étude nous avons regardé si les variants non-sens étaient corrélés à une symptomatologie plus sévère. Depuis l’an 2000 nous avons identifié par séquençage SANGER ou séquencage haut débit un variant du gène THRB chez 317 patients adressés au centre de référence des maladies rares de la thyroïde et des récepteurs hormonaux pour RHTβ. Les données cliniques et biologiques ont été recueilli (CNIL 900176). Parmi les 317 patients avec variant pathogène du gène THRB seuls 4 étaient porteurs d’une variation non-sens situé dans les hotspots mutationnels connus pour ce gène. Les patients pour lesquels nous avions des informations cliniques présentaient une symptomatologie importante avec goitre multinodulaire, troubles neuropsychiatriques dès l’enfance, associés à une T4L supérieure à deux fois la normale voir indosable pour un patient. Dans la littérature, 3 cas bien documentés de patients avec variants non-sens ont été rapportés, avec une clinique parfois marquée. Les variations non-sens du gène THRB pourraient donc entraîner un phénotype sévère, dont le mécanisme physiopathologique reste à élucider.
