Free Vibration Analysis of Curvilinearly Stiffened Cylindrical Shells
Peng Shi,Rakesh K. Kapania,Chunying Dong +2 more
- 05 Jan 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, the free vibration of curvilinearly stiffened cylindrical shells is studied by using the finite element method, where the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) is employed for both the shell and the Timoshenko beam modeling.

Shape sensitivities and approximations of modal response of laminated skew plates
TL;DR: The results obtained with the calibration tests of the pitch/ yaw and roll mechanism (related to the SDM) were in good accordance with the data published by NAE (IAR), DFVLR (DLR), and FFA, taking into account the different characteristics of the wind tunnels and of the model suspensions as mentioned in this paper.

Parametric identification of nonlinear structural dynamic systems using time finite element method
Rakesh K. Kapania,Sungho Park +1 more
- 01 Jan 1997
TL;DR: In this paper, the sensitivity of the transient response with respect to various design parameters is calculated using the time finite element method (TFM) for parametric identification of nonlinear structural dynamic systems.
