In order to give students an authentic learning experience and better prepare them for the life-long learning required in contemporary workplaces, educational institutions increasingly use project-based learning in teams. However, this poses the challenge of developing authentic and equitable assessment criteria that reflect individual contributions in a team-work setting without jeopardizing project outcomes. We present a novel and innovative portfolio-based assessment framework that focuses on qualitative outcomes and ensures that the level of achievement reflects a student's competency across each of the defined learning dimensions, including professional behaviour, teamwork, process and relevant contributions towards project deliverables. In this paper, we present the main motivation behind devising and introducing the framework and also reflect on the educational outcomes and challenges of implementing the framework in the context of two final year Software Engineering project units.

With the aid of historical data-driven predictive research, demand forecasting determines and forecasts future consumer demand for a good or service. By predicting future sales and revenues, demand forecasting assists the organisation in making more educated supply decisions. Regression methods like linear regression, decision trees, and Xgboost are used to overcome this issue.

An Efficient Novel Approach on Machine Learning Paradigmsfor Food Delivery Company through Demand Forecastıng in societal community

Graduates of computer science and software engineering degrees are often expected by employers to possess various technical skills as well as competencies in project management, testing, teamwork, and other soft skills. Extant literature has identified that these competencies are often not addressed by traditional teaching approaches such as lectures and labs. In this paper, we present a project-based learning approach to teaching agile software development where students work in multicultural teams to develop software for clients. This approach to teaching software development addresses some of the competencies required by employers, and the feedback from students, clients, and tutors are discussed and analysed critically.

Experiencing the Sheffield Team Software Project: A project-based learning approach to teaching Agile

Today employees in IT related areas are expected to know the newest technologies and to be able to apply it independently in their projects. This requires a deeper understanding and additional competences that are not taught in lectures or addressed by Project Based Learning (PBL) approaches. In this paper, an approach to teach software engineering concepts using the Scrum framework in real life projects is presented. It extends the PBL concept with respect to competences. Feedback from students, customers as well as our own experience confirm the benefits of the presented approach.

In this paper we investigate to what extent long short-term memory neural networks (LSTMs) are suitable for demand forecasting in the e-grocery retail sector For this purpose, univariate as well as multivariate LSTM-based models were developed and tested for 100 fast-moving consumer goods in the context of a master's thesis On average, the developed models showed better results for food products than the comparative models from both statistical and machine learning families Solely in the area of beverages random forest and linear regression achieved slightly better results This outcome suggests that LSTMs can be used for demand forecasting at product level The performance of the models presented here goes beyond the current state of research, as can be seen from the evaluations based on a data set that unfortunately has not been publicly available to date

Demand Forecasting using Long Short-Term Memory Neural Networks.

Programming languages aim at the construction of simple but expressive programs. To achieve this, plenty of language concepts have arisen over time. Design patterns aim at the solution of common design problems. To achieve this, plenty of approved design concepts have been collected. We claim that language concepts and design patterns are essentially the same. Indeed, a language may o er a design pattern as a language concept; we call such patterns language patterns. A design pattern can be implemented in terms of other design or language patterns. Since a concrete programming language only supports a subset of language patterns, every other pattern must be expressed in terms of this subset. We call such an implementation a workaround. The speci cation of a workaround imposes proof obligations: it must be shown that a workaround simulates the pattern. Once proved correct, we can collect patterns and their workarounds in a trustworthy catalogue. This helps software developers to correctly apply patterns in any language and helps the language designer to decide which patterns to put into the language core. We demonstrate this pattern integration process with well-known design patterns and concepts of object-oriented languages. Additionally, we list important language patterns together with their workarounds.
