Monitoring and Mapping Vegetation Cover Changes in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas Using Remote Sensing Technology: A Review
TL;DR: In this paper , a review of the remote sensing satellite sensors and the methods used for monitoring and mapping vegetation cover changes in arid and semi-arid regions is presented, where satellite imagery data combined with ancillary data such as slope, elevation, aspect, water bodies, and soil characteristics can detect vegetation cover change at the species level.
The Impact of Dam Construction on Downstream Vegetation Area in Dry Areas Using Satellite Remote Sensing: A Case Study
Raid Almalki,Mehdi Khaki,Patricia M. Saco,Jose F. Rodriguez +3 more
TL;DR: The dam construction significantly reduced the vegetation area in the dry season due to water impoundment and increased cropland area. Climate variables and equivalent water thickness have a dominant influence on vegetation variations before dam construction, while their influence decreases after dam construction.

- 18 Sep 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, a process for evaluating geographical considerations in site selection for small modular reactors (SMRs) in Saskatchewan was established, where the study areas were subjected to a multi-criteria decision analysis based on specific criteria drawn from various Canadian federal regulation documents.
