Enhanced lithium storage in ZnFe2O4–C nanocomposite produced by a low-energy ball milling
Rahul Mundiyaniyil Thankachan,Mokhlesur Rahman,Irin Sultana,Alexey M. Glushenkov,Alexey M. Glushenkov,Sabu Thomas,Nandakumar Kalarikkal,Ying Chen +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel nanocomposite structure of ZnFe 2 O 4 -C was achieved by combining a sol-gel and a low energy ball milling method.

Room temperature magnetoelectric coupling effect in CuFe2O4-BaTiO3 core-shell and nanocomposites
Rahul Mundiyaniyil Thankachan,B. Raneesh,Anshida Mayeen,S. Karthika,S. Vivek,Swapna S. Nair,Sabu Thomas,Nandakumar Kalarikkal +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a novel magnetoelectric (ME) core-shell and (1-x)BaTiO3-xCuFe2O4 composites were prepared by two step solgel and a sol-gel followed by a solid state reaction respectively.
56
Cr3+-substitution induced structural reconfigurations in the nanocrystalline spinel compound ZnFe2O4 as revealed from X-ray diffraction, positron annihilation and Mössbauer spectroscopic studies
Rahul Mundiyaniyil Thankachan,Jincemon Cyriac,B. Raneesh,Nandakumar Kalarikkal,Dirtha Sanyal,P.M.G. Nambissan +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the possibility of a similar change when the Fe3+ ions at the octahedral sites are replaced by Cr3+ ion, which resulted in the inversion of ZnFe2−xCrxO4 from normal spinel to inverse at x ≥ 0.8.
23
Sea urchin-like Ni encapsulated with BaTiO3 to form multiferroic core-shell structures for room temperature magnetoelectric sensors
Ramany Revathy,Rahul Mundiyaniyil Thankachan,Nandakumar Kalarikkal,Manoj Raama Varma,Manoj Raama Varma,Kuzhichalil Peethambharan Surendran,Kuzhichalil Peethambharan Surendran +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic, electric and magnetoelectric properties of Ni nanoparticles partially coated with BaTiO3 provide enough evidence for the existence of ME coupling between Ni and BaO3 at their interface.
15
Positron annihilation spectroscopic studies of Mn substitution-induced cubic to tetragonal transformation in ZnFe2–xMnxO4 (x = 0.0–2.0) spinel nanocrystallites
Jincemon Cyriac,Rahul Mundiyaniyil Thankachan,B. Raneesh,P.M.G. Nambissan,D. Sanyal,Nandakumar Kalarikkal +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of cation replacement and the resultant generation of vacancy-type defects are examined through high-precision X-ray diffraction measurements and transmission electron microscopic analysis, which show definite changes in the positron lifetimes and intensities which show positron trapping in trivacancy-type defect clusters and the nanocrystallite surfaces.
