The point-matching method on dissipative silencers of arbitrary cross-section
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple numerical technique known as point-matching, or collocation, is used to obtain the wavenumbers and eigenmodes of an infinite cylindrical dissipative silencer of arbitrary cross-section in the case of negligible mean flow.

Linear Acoustic Exhaust System Simulation Using Source Data from Non Linear Simulation
Robert Fairbrother,Hans Bodén,Ragnar Glav +2 more
- 16 May 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a linear time invariant 1-port model for the simulation of duct acoustics in exhaust systems and used a non-linear simulation of the exhaust line to predict sound pressure levels at a free field microphone position.

Housing arranged in an exhaust gas system for a combustion engine
Ragnar Glav,Michael Linden +1 more
- 11 Sep 2002
TL;DR: In this paper, a converter device for an exhaust system for a combustion engine is described, which consists of an outer casing, a passage for leading exhaust gases through the converter device, a particle filter (7) arranged in said passage to remove particles from the exhaust gases, and a catalytic cleaner (10) arranged to effect catalytic cleaning of exhaust gases.

Study of a folded resonator including the effects of higher order modes
TL;DR: In this article, a 2-port matrix for a folded quarter-wave side-branch resonator including higher order modes but neglecting flow interaction effects is derived based on mode matching technique and verified by measurements done on prototypes.
