Gemcitabine, oxaliplatin, levofolinate, 5-fluorouracil, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, and interleukin-2 (GOLFIG) versus FOLFOX chemotherapy in metastatic colorectal cancer patients: the GOLFIG-2 multicentric open-label randomized phase III trial.
Pierpaolo Correale,Cirino Botta,Maria Saveria Rotundo,Annamaria Guglielmo,Raffaele Conca,Antonella Licchetta,Pierpaolo Pastina,Elena Bestoso,Domenico Ciliberto,Maria Grazia Cusi,Antonella Fioravanti,Giacomo Maria Guidelli,Maria T. Bianco,Gabriella Misso,Elodia Claudia Martino,Michele Caraglia,Pierfrancesco Tassone,Enrico Mini,Giovanni Mantovani,Ruggero Ridolfi,Luigi Pirtoli,Pierosandro Tagliaferri +21 more
TL;DR: Findings provide proof-of-principle that GOLFIG chemoimmunotherapy may represent a novel reliable option for first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer patients.

CEA and CA19.9 as Early Predictors of Progression in Advanced/Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients Receiving Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy and Bevacizumab
Roberto Petrioli,Antonella Licchetta,Giandomenico Roviello,Alessandra Pascucci,Edoardo Francini,Gianluca Bargagli,Raffaele Conca,Salvatora Tindara Miano,G Marzocca,Guido Francini +9 more
TL;DR: Rises in CEA and CA19.9 may early signal the occurrence of progression in mCRC patients receiving chemotherapy and bevacizumab (Bev).

Lenvatinib for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma
Giandomenico Roviello,Silvia Paola Corona,Giovanni Bozza,Michele Aieta,Daniele Generali,Maria Grazia Rodriquenz,Anna Maria Mileo,Marco Imperatori,Anna Ianza,Raffaele Conca,Navid Sobhani +10 more
TL;DR: Lenvatinib in combination with everolimus has provided encouraging results in both clinical and laboratory investigations showing that blocking angiogenesis and the mTOR signalling pathway could be a remarkable approach for treating RCC.
Effects of intravenous zoledronic acid and oral ibandronate on early changes in markers of bone turnover in patients with bone metastases from non-small cell lung cancer
Filippo Francini,Alessandra Pascucci,Gianluca Bargagli,Edoardo Francini,Raffaele Conca,Salvatora Tindara Miano,Ignazio Martellucci,Cristina Migali,Giuseppe Gotti,Anna Ida Fiaschi,Annunziata Cozzolino,Roberto Petrioli +11 more
TL;DR: Considering the changes in bone markers, ZOL and oral IBA show comparable efficacy in patients with NSCLC and bone metastases.

Thymidine phosphorylase expression in metastatic sites is predictive for response in patients with colorectal cancer treated with continuous oral capecitabine and biweekly oxaliplatin.
Roberto Petrioli,Gianluca Bargagli,Stefano Lazzi,Alessandra Pascucci,Edoardo Francini,Cristiana Bellan,Raffaele Conca,Ignazio Martellucci,Anna Ida Fiaschi,Bruno Lorenzi,Guido Francini +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that biweekly oxaliplatin and continuous oral capecitabine is an active and well-tolerated chemotherapy regimen in the first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer and adds to a growing body of evidence that patients with high levels of intratumoral TP expression are the ideal candidates for cape citabine-based chemotherapy.
