Ion Acceleration Using Relativistic Pulse Shaping in Near-Critical-Density Plasmas
Jianhui Bin,Wenjun Ma,Wenjun Ma,Huali Wang,Huali Wang,Huali Wang,M. J. V. Streeter,Christian Kreuzer,Daniel Kiefer,Mark Yeung,S. Cousens,Peta Foster,Peta Foster,Brendan Dromey,X. Q. Yan,Rafael Ramis,Jürgen Meyer-ter-Vehn,Matthew Zepf,Matthew Zepf,Jörg Schreiber +19 more
TL;DR: It is shown that ultraintense laser pulses with an extremely steep rising edge can be obtained using sufficiently strong and well-controlled relativistic nonlinearities in spatially well-defined near-critical-density plasmas.

Nonlinear theory of the ablative Rayleigh-Taylor instability.
TL;DR: A fully nonlinear sharp-boundary model of the ablative Rayleigh-Taylor instability is derived and closed in a similar way to the self-consistent closure of the linear theory and contains the stabilizing effect of ablation.

MULTI-IFE—A one-dimensional computer code for Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) target simulations
TL;DR: The code MULTI-IFE is a numerical tool devoted to the study of Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) microcapsules that includes the relevant physics for the implosion and thermonuclear ignition and burning: hydrodynamics of two component plasmas, three-dimensional laser light ray-tracing, thermal diffusion, multigroup radiation transport, deuterium–tritium burning, and alpha particle diffusion.

Nicolaï,John Pasley,Rafael Ramis,Maria Richetta,Joao Santos,Andrea Sgattoni,C. Spindloe,B. Vauzour,Tommaso Vinci,Luca Volpe +34 more
TL;DR: In this article, fast electrons produced by a 10 ps, 160 J laser pulse through a laser-compressed plastic cylinders are studied experimentally and numerically in the context of fast ignition.

Irradiation uniformity at the Laser MegaJoule facility in the context of the shock ignition scheme
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of the Laser MegaJoule facility within the shock ignition scheme has been considered, and three-dimensional hydrodynamic calculations have been performed in order to analyse the magnitude of the azimuthal component of the irradiation.
