Inverted orientation improves decellularization of whole porcine hearts
Po-Feng Lee,Eric Chau,Rafael Cabello,Alvin T. Yeh,Luiz C. Sampaio,Andrea S. Gobin,Doris A. Taylor +6 more
TL;DR: The inverted method was superior to the vented method, as shown by a higher coronary perfusion efficiency, more cell debris outflow, higher collagen and elastin content inside the aortic valve, lower DNA content, and better retention of the heart shape after decellularization.

Decellularization of Whole Human Heart Inside a Pressurized Pouch in an Inverted Orientation
Doris A. Taylor,Luiz C. Sampaio,Rafael Cabello,Abdelmotagaly Elgalad,Rohan Parikh,R Patrick Wood,Kevin A Myer,Alvin T. Yeh,Po-Feng Lee +8 more
TL;DR: A more "physiological" method to decellularize non-transplantable human hearts by placing them inside a pressurized pouch, in an inverted orientation, under controlled pressure, and generating a scaffold that can be used either for simple cardiac repair or as a whole-organ scaffold.

Cardiovascular Outcomes With an Early Rhythm Control Strategy in Atrial Fibrillation: A Systematic Review
TL;DR: A systematic review of literature evaluating effectiveness of early rhythm control in AF shows that ERC is associated with a reduction of cardiovascular events in AF patients compared to other treatment strategies.
