Mechanism of revert spacing in a PbCrO4 Liesegang system.
TL;DR: It is shown that this correlation in opposite directions decisively reveals the role of adsorption in the mechanism and increases as the band number increases in revert spacing systems, while it decreases as n increases in direct spacing systems.

Front Propagation in Patterned Precipitation. 1. Simulation of a Migrating Co(OH)2 Liesegang Pattern
‡ and M. Al-Ghoul†,Rabih Sultan +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the model of Muller and Polezhaev for periodic precipitation is applied to a salt system that can dissolve in excess diffusing electrolyte due to complex formation.

Propagating Fronts and Chaotic Dynamics in Co(OH)2 Liesegang Systems
V. Nasreddine,Rabih Sultan +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a study of some features and characteristics of the Co2+/NH4OH Liesegang system and obtain a rigorous measurement of the total number of bands.

Bifurcation of the Ostwald-Liesegang supersaturation-nucleation-depletion cycle *
TL;DR: In this paper, a new formulation of the Ostwald supersaturation-nucleation-depletion cycle is adopted to model precipitate banding in rocks, and the limit of existence is determined analytically for a simple model analogue of a pyrite/goethite system.

Patterning Trends and Chaotic Behavior in Co2+/NH4OH Liesegang Systems
Rabih Sultan,S. Sadek +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Co(OH)2 liesegang patterns from Co2+ and NH4OH in gelatin are studied in thin glass tubes, and the experiments are performed in the limit of large initial concentration difference (Δ) between the interdiffusing electrolytes.
