Radiation hardness and lifetime studies of LEDs and VCSELs for the optical readout of the ATLAS SCT
J. Beringer,K. Borer,R. Mommsen,Richard Nickerson,A. R. Weidberg,E Monnier,H.Q Hou,Kevin L. Lear +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the radiation hardness and the lifetime of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and VCSELs in the context of the development of the optical readout for the ATLAS SemiConductor Tracker (SCT) at LHC.
Recent results from experiment NA52 at the CERN SPS
S. Kabana,Giovanna Ambrosini,R. Arsenescu,C. Baglin,J. Beringer,Christian Bohm,K. Borer,A. Bussiere,Fridolin Dittus,K. Elsener,Daniel Frei,Ph. Gorodetzky,J.P. Guillaud,P. Hess,E. Hugentobler,R. Klingenberg,T. Lindin,K.D. Lohmann,R. Mommsen,U. Moser,Klaus Peter Pretzl,J. Schacher,B. Sellden,F. Stoffel,Jorma Tuominiemi,Marc Weber,Q.P. Zhang +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the NA52 experiment on the strangelet search and on particle, antiparticle, light nuclei and antinuclei production in minimum bias Pb + Pb collisions at 158 A GeV and zero production angle are presented.

The NA52 strangelet search
Marc Weber,R. Arsenescu,C. Baglin,Hans Peter Beck,K. Borer,A. Bussiere,K. Elsener,Ph. Gorodetzky,J.P. Guillaud,S. Kabana,R. Klingenberg,G. Lehmann,T. Lindén,K.D. Lohmann,R. Mommsen,U. Moser,K. Pretzl,J. Schacher,R Spiwoks,Jorma Tuominiemi +19 more
TL;DR: The NA52 experiment as mentioned in this paper searches for long-lived charged strangelets in 158 A GeV c-1 Pb + Pb collisions at CERN SPS and is able to identify single particles coming from the collisions at pt = 0.

New results from NA52 on particle production in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c
R. Arsenescu,Giovanna Ambrosini,C. Baglin,J. Beringer,C. Bohm,K. Borer,A. Bussiere,Fridolin Dittus,K. Elsener,Ph Gorodetsky,J.P. Guillaud,P. Hess,S. Kabana,R. Klingenberg,T. Lindén,K.D. Lohmann,R. Mommsen,U. Moser,K. Pretzl,J. Schacher,B. Sellden,F. Stoffel,Jorma Tuominiemi,Marc Weber,Q.P. Zhang +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented new results on K± and π± production in minimum bias lead-lead collisions at 158 A GeV/c. The results were performed at zero degree production angle and for a wide rapidity range.

Antimatter and Matter Production in Heavy Ion Collisions at CERN (The NEWMASS Experiment NA52)
Giovanna Ambrosini,R. Arsenescu,C. Baglin,Hans Peter Beck,K. Borer,A. Bussiere,K. Elsener,Ph. Gorodetzky,J.P. Guillaud,P. Hess,S. Kabana,Reiner Klingenberg,G. Lehmann,T. Lindén,K.D. Lohmann,R. Mommsen,U. Moser,K. Pretzl,J. Schacher,R. Spiwoks,F. Stoffel,Jorma Tuominiemi,Marc Weber +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured nuclei and antinuclei near midrapidity covering an impact parameter range of b=2-12 fm and showed that nuclei are mainly produced via the coalescence mechanism, however the centrality dependence of the antibaryon to baryon ratios show that antibaryons are diminished due to annihilation and breakup reactions in the hadron dense environment.
