Design of an ultra-broadband single-disk output window for a frequency step-tunable 1 MW gyrotron
Xiaokang Yang,Günter Dammertz,R. Heidinger,K. Koppenburg,F. Leuterer,Andreas Meier,Bernhard Piosczyk,D. Wagner,Manfred Thumm +8 more
- 01 Nov 2005
TL;DR: In this article, a newly designed ultra-broadband CVD-diamond disk Brewster window was designed to achieve low power reflection over a broadband incident angle range around the Brewster angle at different operating frequencies.

The influence of Window parameters on the transmission characteristics of millimeter waves
Xiaokang Yang,E. Borie,Günter Dammertz,R. Heidinger,K. Koppenburg,F. Leuterer,Bernhard Piosczyk,D. Wagner,Manfred Thumm +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of some window parameters, such as the mechanical tolerance of disk thickness, the variation of distance between two disks, and the frequency drift during gyrotron operation on the transmission characteristics of millimeter-wave transmission was investigated.

Gyrotron Development in the EU for Present Fusion Experiments and for ITER
Manfred Thumm,S. Alberti,Andreas Arnold,D. Bariou,G. Dammertz,C. Darbos,Olgierd Dumbrajs,G. Gantenbein,V. Erckmann,E. Giguet,R. Heidinger,J. P. Hogge,S. Illy,J. Jin,W. Kasparek,C. Lievin,R. Magne,G. Michel,B. Piosczyk,O. Prinz,T. Rzesnicki,K. Schwörer,M. Q. Tran,Xiaokang Yang,I. Yovchev +24 more
- 03 Jan 2006
TL;DR: The long term strategy of the EU in the field of gyrotrons in fusion plasma applications is based on two approaches: R&D in laboratories to develop advanced concepts and industrial development of state-of-the-art tubes for use in present experiments like TCV, Tore Supra (118 GHz, 0.5 MW, CW) and W7-X (140 GHz, 1 MW,CW) as mentioned in this paper.

Status of the 1 MW, 140 GHZ, CW gyrotron for W7-X
Günter Dammertz,S. Alberti,Andreas Arnold,E. Borie,V. Erckmann,Gerd Gantenbein,E. Giguet,R. Heidinger,J. P. Hogge,Stefan Illy,W. Kasparek,K. Koppenburg,M. Kuntze,H. P. Laqua,G. LeCloarec,Y. LeGoff,W. Leonhardt,Christophe Lievin,R. Magne,G. Michel,Georg Müller,G. Neffe,Bernhard Piosczyk,Martin Schmid,Manfred Thumm,M. Q. Tran +25 more
- 01 Jan 2003
TL;DR: The first series tube of the 1MW, 140 GHz, CW gyrotrons for W7-X passed the site acceptance test successfully as mentioned in this paper, and the power was measured to be 1 MW.

A cvd-diamond disk brewster window for a frequency step-tunable 1 mw gyrotron
Xiaokang Yang,E. Borie,Günter Dammertz,R. Heidinger,K. Koppenburg,Bernhard Piosczyk,D. Wagner,Manfred Thumm +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a newly designed ultra-broadband CVD-diamond disk Brewster window unit was designed to keep the window reflections low over a wide angular range around the Brewster angle.
