Lifetime and energy of the ground state of 8Be
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed account of measurements of the ground-state energy and the lifetime of 8 Be by α-α elastic scattering is presented, and the nuclear ground state energy is E 0 = 92.12±0.05 keV; the width of the Ground State Γ = 6.8±1.7 eV corresponds to a lifetime τ = (0.97 −0.19 + 0.32 ) × 10 −16 sec.
