TL;DR: In this paper, a seismic refraction experiment along the Lesser Antilles island arc in the eastern Caribbean has shown that the crust beneath the arc contains two refractors with average seismic velocities of 6.2 and 6.9 km/s.

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed model of the shield crust is presented and an indication is given of the complex structure which probably exists beneath the Rift itself, and it is concluded that a steep structural boundary separates normal shield crust and sub-Moho material beneath the western flank of the Gregory Rift from a mantle derived crustal intrusion.
