Confinement of fusion-produced tritium in the Princeton Large Torus

Observation of d-/sup 3/He fusion reactions in a tokamak plasma
TL;DR: In this article, the Princeton Large Torus was used to detect the unconfined 14.7-MeV proton in the ion-cyclotron range of frequencies to energies above 80 keV. Reaction rates as high as 2 x 10/sup 13/ sec/sup -1/ resulting in 60 W of fusion power were obtained by 500-kW heating of a /sup 3/He minority in the Ion-Cycle range.
