CHANG-ES XII: A LOFAR and VLA view of the edge-on star-forming galaxy NGC 3556
Arpad Miskolczi,Volker Heesen,Cathy Horellou,Dominik J. Bomans,R. Beck,George Heald,R.-J. Dettmar,S. Blex,Błażej Nikiel-Wroczyński,Krzysztof T. Chyzy,Yelena Stein,Judith A. Irwin,Timothy W. Shimwell,Q. D. Wang +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the radio spectral index, magnetic field strength, and orientation using VLA 1.5 and 6 GHz and LOFAR 144 MHz data were mapped using SPINNAKER (Spectral Index Numerical Analysis of K(c)osmic-ray electron radio emission) and its interactive wrapper SPINTERACTIVE.
CHANG-ES XIII: Transport processes and the magnetic fields of NGC 4666 - indication of a reversing disk magnetic field
Yelena Stein,R.-J. Dettmar,Judith A. Irwin,R. Beck,Marek Wezgowiec,Arpad Miskolczi,Marita Krause,Volker Heesen,Theresa Wiegert,George Heald,Rene A. M. Walterbos,Jiang-Tao Li,Marian Soida +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic field geometry and the transport processes of the cosmic rays of the edge-on spiral starburst galaxy NGC 4666 from CHANG-ES radio continuum data in two frequencies; 6 GHz (C-band) and 1.5 GHz (L-band).

Calibrating the relation of low-frequency radio continuum to star formation rate at 1 kpc scale with LOFAR
Volker Heesen,E. Buie,C. J. Huff,L. A. Perez,J. G. Woolsey,D. A. Rafferty,Aritra Basu,R. Beck,Elias Brinks,Cathy Horellou,Evan Scannapieco,Marcus Brüggen,R.-J. Dettmar,K. Sendlinger,Błażej Nikiel-Wroczyński,Krzysztof T. Chyzy,Philip Best,George Heald,Rosita Paladino +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the Condon relation to calibrate the conversion from the spatially resolved 140 MHz RC emission to the SFR surface density at 1 kpc scale, and compared these maps with hybrid SFR maps with a Gaussian kernel until the RC-SFR relation is linearised.
