Darboux transformation is an efficient method for solving different nonlinear partial differential equations. In this paper, on the basis of a Lie super-algebras, a generalized super-NLS-mKdV equation is solved by the Darboux transformation. The analytic solutions are presented with the help of symbolic computation. Besides, two special cases are given to make the solution intuitive. Dynamic properties of solitons are also discussed.

Darboux transformation and analytic solutions for a generalized super-NLS-mKdV equation

The polarization of light is utilized in many technologies throughout science and engineering. The ability to transform one state of polarization to another is a key enabling technology. Common polarization transformers are simple polarizers and polarization rotators. Simple polarizers change the intensity depending on the input state and can only output a fixed polarized state, while polarization rotators rotates the input Stokes vector in the 3D Stokes space. We experimentally demonstrate an all-optical input-agnostic polarization transformer (AI-APT), which transforms all input states of polarization to a particular state that can be polarized or partially polarized. The output state of polarization and intensity depends solely on setup parameters, and not on the input state, thereby the AI-APT functions differently from simple polarizers and polarization rotators. The AI-APT is completely passive, and thus can be used as a polarization controller or stabilizer for single photons and ultrafast pulses. To achieve this, we, for the first time, experimentally realize complete kinematic state controllability of an open single-qubit by Kraus maps put forth in Wu et al. (J Phys A 40:5681, 2007). The AI-APT may open a new frontier of partially polarized ultrafast optics.

All-optical input-agnostic polarization transformer via experimental Kraus-map control

Abstract Based on a seven-qubit entangled state, Chen et al (2020 Int. J. Theor. Phys. 59 1402) presented a scheme for controlled quantum teleportation. Using the same quantum channel state, we put forward a new scheme in which the quantum information sender can also transmit a Bell state to receiver under the agreement and assist of the controller. The comparison with Chen et al ’s scheme is made and reveals its distinct advantage of reducing the classical resource consumption and increasing the intrinsic efficiency as well as degrading the complexity of necessary operations. 

Convenient quantum controlled teleportation of two-qubit pure state with seven-qubit entangled state

In the context of the development of quantum technology, most asymmetric encryption algorithms managed to be broken using Shor's algorithm, while symmetric encryption algorithms, such as AES-256, are believed to be unbroken for the moment, Grover's algorithm has been able only to reduce AES brute force attack time to its square root. This paper proposes to present how Quantum technology can affect current security algorithms and analyze how it can be used to improve our data protection by developing new algorithms. Quantum cryptography alongside Quantum key distribution could be a deal-breaker by using new encryption algorithms and providing new solutions to different cryptographic tasks that are known to be impossible by using normal computers. In the end, it will be discussed how the concept of quantum teleportation could provide new, faster, and much more secure solutions in telecommunication compared with the ones based on radio technologies.

Quantum technology’s role in cybersecurity

Atmospheric turbulence has a significant impact on the quality of a laser beam propagating through the atmosphere over long distances. Turbulence causes intensity scintillation and beam wander from propagation through turbulent eddies of varying sizes and refractive index. This can severely impair the operation of target designation and Free-Space Optical (FSO) communications systems. In addition, experimenting on an FSO communication system is rather tedious and difficult. The interferences of plentiful elements affect the result and cause the experimental outcomes to have bigger error variance margins than they are supposed to have. Especially when we go into the stronger turbulence regimes the simulation and analysis of the turbulence induced beams require delicate attention. We propose a new geometrical model to assess the phase shift of a laser beam propagating through turbulence. The atmosphere along the laser beam propagation path will be modeled as a spatial distribution of spherical bubbles with refractive index discontinuity calculated from a Gaussian distribution with the mean value being the index of air. For each statistical representation of the atmosphere, the path of rays will be analyzed using geometrical optics. These Monte Carlo techniques will assess the phase shift as a summation of the phases that arrive at the same point at the receiver. Accordingly, there would be dark and bright spots at the receiver that give an idea regarding the intensity pattern without having to solve the wave equation. The Monte Carlo analysis will be compared with the predictions of wave theory.

A free space quantum communication multi-dimensional modulation system based on pulse position modulation and polarization encoding is put forward and designed and is used to send quantum information and classical information simultaneously. Atmospheric channel model and coexistence system model is built. We perform a simulation experiment for transmitting signal in atmospheric, using Optisystem and Matlab together. The binary sequence before modulation and that after demodulation are compared and analyzed. The error bit rate, eye diagram and quality factor of classical optical date are obtained. Stabilities of classical optical signal during the transmission are tested. The results show that this multi-dimensional modulation system can decrease the numbers of information channels needed and reduce the demands for power load and systematic complexity in communication terminals. The proposed quantum communication system is confirmed to be effective and applicable.

By this way we can send additional classical signal simultaneously when transmitting quantum signal. The basic principle of multi-dimensional modulation scheme is introduced. Simulation experiment is performed using Optisystem and Matlab simultaneously. The binary sequence before modulation and that after demodulation are compared and analyzed. The error bit rate, eye diagram and quality factor of classical optical date are obtained. Stabilities of classical optical signal during the transmission are tested. The results show that this multi-dimensional modulation scheme can decrease the numbers of information channels needed, increase information transmission efficiency and reduce the demands for power load systematic complexity in communication terminals. The proposed coexistence system is confirmed to be effective and applicable.

Method on multi-dimensional modulation in inter-satellite quantum communication

Free space quantum key distribution has come into practical engineering stage, and the quantum key distribution system based on movable platform like airplane and satellite is the crucial research interest. The effect of atmospheric turbulence intensity, extinction coefficient and optical antenna aperture on quantum key distribution performance based on movable platform is studied. Calculation model of quantum bit error rate is built and BER changing curve on the effect of each factor is simulated. The results indicate that leaving out the directional error of ATP system in both transmitter and receiver, extinction coefficient and optical antenna aperture have more effect on BER. At 5km transmission distance, when transmitter/receiver antenna aperture increase one times/decrease half, BER raises about 3 times; when extinction coefficient being 1dB/km and 2dB/km, BER is as far as ten times approximately.

Research on Effect of Multiple Factors on BER in Quantum Key Distribution System Based on Movable Platform

We put forward an efficient quantum controlled teleportation scheme, in which arbitrary two-qubit state is transmitted from the sender to the remote receiver via two entangled states under the control of the supervisor. In this paper, we use the combination of one two-qubit entangled state and one three-qubit entangled state as quantum channel for achieving the transmission of unknown quantum states. We present the concrete implementation processes of this scheme. Furthermore, we calculate the successful probability and the amount of classical information of our protocol.
