Current situation and key manufacturing considerations of green furniture in China: A review

The current organisational environment is characterised by rapid change. This means that if businesses want to survive, they must stay abreast of these changes so as to take the most appropriate and risk-minimizing decisions. This can only be done if the decision makers have access to Intelligent Information. To obtain this information, it is necessary to have structured processes of Competitive Intelligence in place. Large businesses have been doing this for years, and now more and more small and mediums business are doing it too. In this paper, an analysis will be carried out of the implementation of these Competitive Intelligence processes in hotels in the Costa del Sol - a valued beach holiday destination on a European level. Despite strong competition from other such destinations, the Costa de Sol attracts millions of sun-seeking holiday-makers, as well as more and more visitors from other tourism sectors, such as sport and culture.

Whether unstructured or structured, tagging of multimedia resources is a laborious and time-consuming process when carried out in the context of a single individual. However, effort can be greatly reduced and the detail, quality and volume of metadata increased within the context of a web community. Despite this, little empirical research has been carried out to understand how users individually or collaboratively work with multimedia tagging tools, whether structured or unstructured. Consequently, we explore how to effectively achieve collaborative multimedia tagging through the results of an experiment that collected data from 51 users using both unstructured folksonomy (Flickr, YouTube and del.icio.us) and structured MPEG-7 tools (COSMOSIS). We contribute a detailed analysis of the use of the multimedia tagging tools used in the experiment and show the relationships between user behaviours, resultant outcomes of these behaviours, and subsequent implications for future collaborative multimedia MPEG-7 tagging tools.

Experimenting with tagging and context for collaborative MPEG-7 metadata

The use of multimedia content on the web has grown significantly in recent years. Websites such as Facebook, YouTube and Flickr cater for enormous amounts of multimedia content uploaded by users. This vast amount of multimedia content requires comprehensive content modelling otherwise retrieving relevant content will be challenging. Modelling multimedia content can be an extremely time consuming task that may seem impossible particularly when undertaken by individual users. However, the advent of Web 2.0 and associated communities, such as YouTube and Flickr, has shown that users appear to be more willing to collaborate in order to take on enormous tasks such as multimedia content modelling. Harnessing the power of communities to achieve comprehensive content modelling is the primary focus of this research. The aim of this thesis is to explore collaborative multimedia content modelling and in particular the effectiveness of existing multimedia content modelling tools, taking into account the key development challenges of existing collaborative content modelling research and the associated modelling tools. Four research objectives are pursued in order to achieve this; first, design a user experiment to study users’ tagging behaviour with existing multimedia tagging tools and identify any relationships between such user behaviour; second, design and develop a framework for MPEG-7 content modelling communities based on the results of the experiment; third, implement an online service as a proof of concept of the framework; fourth, validate the framework through the online service during a repeat of the initial user experiment. This research contributes first, a conceptual model of user behaviour visualised as a fuzzy cognitive map and, second, an MPEG-7 framework for multimedia content modelling communities (MC) and its proof of concept as an online service. The fuzzy cognitive model embodies relationships between user tagging behaviour and context and provides an understanding of user priorities in the description of content features and the relationships that exist between them. The MC framework, developed based on the fuzzy cognitive model, is deep-rooted in user content modelling behaviour and content preferences. An Evaluation Report of Postgraduates Education in China

This paper has presented the multimedia application framework in academic libraries. Three application layers were discussed in this article: library marketing, library services and library resources. The reason of library marketing was analyzed and library marketing methods were given in this article. Multimedia applications in library services and the main type of multimedia resource in academic libraries were analyzed in this paper too. A survey on multimedia services in academic libraries was given at last.

Bibliometrics-based analysis on competitive intelligence in China

Study on the Development of CNKI

Patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) have a poor prognosis. The molecular mechanism of OSCC progression remains unclear. The aim of this study was to explore specific prognostic biomarkers of OSCC at the transcriptome-wide level. A total of 158 differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), including 85 cis-acting and 10 trans-acting differentially expressed lncRNAs, were screened in OSCC tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. Both cisand trans-target genes of differentially expressed lncRNAs were enriched in pathways associated with cancer progression. Additionally, 25 differentially expressed mRNAs were screened. Overlapping analysis of differential protein-coding genes with the cisand trans-target genes of differentially expressed lncRNAs indicated that KIF19 was the only trans-acting gene of differentially expressed lncRNA ‘ENST00000626052’ (named ENSTa). ENSTa was down-regulated in OSCC tissues and cells, and its low expression corresponded to a poor prognosis in OSCC. KIF19 was highly expressed in OSCC tissues and cells. Patients with high expression of KIF19 had a poor prognosis. Cellular experiments showed that KIF19 expression and cell proliferation were inhibited in cells overexpressing ENSTa. However, KIF19 overexpression counteracted the effect of ENSTa overexpression on cell proliferation. In conclusion, ENSTa regulated the trans-acting KIF19 gene in the inhibition of the progression of OSCC, thus they could be suggested as novel biomarkers for OSCC.
