Comprehensive evaluation of bronchoalveolar lavage from patients with severe COVID-19 and correlation with clinical outcomes.
Ian Gelarden,Jessica Nguyen,Juehua Gao,Qing Chen,Luisa Morales-Nebreda,Richard G. Wunderink,Lin Li,Joan S. Chmiel,Mary Ann Hrisinko,Laura Marszalek,Sumaiya Momnani,Pinal C. Patel,Ricardo Sumugod,Qi Chao,Lawrence J. Jennings,Teresa R. Zembower,Peng Ji,Yi Hua Chen +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the key features of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluids from COVID-19 patients and assessed their clinical significance, finding that BAL lymphocytes including plasmacytoid and plasmablastic cells, were composed predominantly of T cells with a mixture of CD4+ and CD8+ cells.

Pseudo-Richter transformation of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma following ibrutinib interruption: a diagnostic pitfall.
TL;DR: Inhibition of c-Myc overcomes cytotoxic drug resistance in acute myeloid leukemia cells by promoting differentiation and preventing chromothripsis from DNA damage in micronuclei.

High Frequency of MYD88 L265P Mutation in Primary Ocular Adnexal Marginal Zone Lymphoma and Its Clinicopathologic Correlation: A Study From a Single Institution.
Amir Behdad,Xiao Yi Zhou,Xiao Yi Zhou,Xiao Yi Zhou,Juehua Gao,Kirtee Raparia,Kirtee Raparia,David Dittman,Stefan J. Green,Chao Qi,Bryan L. Betz,Paul Bryar,Qing Chen,Yi Hua Chen +13 more
TL;DR: The frequent MYD88 mutation suggests a critical role of this aberration in the pathogenesis of POAMZL and may serve as a therapeutic target for patients with progressive disease.
Comparison of myeloid neoplasms with nonclassic 3q26.2/MECOM versus classic inv(3)/t(3;3) rearrangements reveals diverse clinicopathologic features, genetic profiles, and molecular mechanisms of MECOM activation.
Juehua Gao,Sandeep Gurbuxani,Taylor Zak,Masha Kocherginsky,Peng Ji,Firas Wehbe,Qing Chen,Yi Hua Chen,Xinyan Lu,Lawrence J. Jennings,Olga Frankfurt,Jessica K. Altman,Madina Sukhanova +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors retrospectively studied cohorts of myeloid neoplasms with classic and non-classic 3.26.2/MECOM rearrangements and found that the classic rearrangement is associated with poor prognosis.

Rare myeloid sarcoma with KMT2A (MLL)-ELL fusion presenting as a vaginal wall mass.
Haiyan Bao,Juehua Gao,Yi Hua Chen,Jessica K. Altman,Olga Frankfurt,Amanda L. Wilson,Madina Sukhanova,Qing Chen,Xinyan Lu +8 more
TL;DR: The case illustrates the clinical utility of comprehensive genomic profiling in assisting the diagnosis or differential diagnosis of challenging MS or histiocytic sarcoma cases, and in providing important information in tumor biology for appropriate clinical management.
