Increasing Maleic Anhydride Selectivity for N-Butane Oxidation by Y-Modified Vpo Catalysts

Vanadium phosphorus oxide (VPO) catalyst has been modified by the Ⅲ B elements (Sc, Y, La, Ce) have been prepared. Those catalysts were tested in n-butane selective oxidation, and it was shown that Y-VPO catalyst has the highest maleic anhydride (MA) yield among the studied catalysts. The VPO catalyst was characterized by a series of techniques. As evidenced by property characterization in conjunction with catalytic performance, we found that the presence of rare earth metals alters the phase composition of VPO catalyst. And then, the acidity of VPO catalyst was adjusted. Finally, the change of acidity could impact the n-butane activation process, which affected the n-butane conversion. Moreover, the rare earth metals also modulated the ratio of lattice oxygen and surface oxygen and then the MA selectivity. 

Effect of Ⅲ B metals (Sc, Y, La and Ce) on active components regulation of VPO catalyst in n-butane selective oxidation

Vanadium phosphate (VPO) materials with high specific surface area prepared via a eutectic mixture as solvent and template with different lengths of time, i.e. 24, 72 and 144 h, were investigated in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol. The X-ray diffraction result indicated the initial VPO precursor was an amorphous phase due to the stronger incorporation of eutectic mixture. On subsequent reflux duration of 72 h, the precursor was composed of a crystallised VOHPO

O phase. On further reflux duration of 144 h, the incorporated eutectic mixture gradually was leached out and the precursor became more crystalline. Interestingly the N

 adsorption–desorption measurements Brunauer–Emmett–Teller studies showed that the VPO precursor incorporated eutectic mixture was mesostructured and the specific surface area first increased then decreased with increasing the reflux duration time. The growth process of the VPO nanostructures formed in a eutectic mixture with different lengths of time was investigated by scanning electron microscopic analysis. The influence of calcination temperature and lengths of reflux duration on the activity and selectivity of the VPO catalyst was studied and discussed.

Background Ovarian cancer (OC) is the seventh most common newly diagnosed cancer in women worldwide. Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is a specific type of epithelial ovarian cancer with a poor prognosis. It has been revealed that human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive (2+/3+) has been observed in 14% to 45.6% of patients with OCCC. Anti-HER2 therapy has been demonstrated to be an effective strategy for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. However, the role of anti-HER2 therapy in OC remains largely unknown. This case report is the first report suggesting a 28-month PFS of pyrotinib in HER2-positive OCCC. Case Description A 67-year-old female patient with HER2-positive OCCC was admitted to our hospital because of fever, who benefited greatly from treatment with pyrotinib, an irreversible HER2 antagonist conditionally approved for patients with advanced or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer in China. The patient, who had previously been diagnosed with stage IA OCCC [according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO)] and undergone radical surgery with standard adjuvant chemotherapy on May 15, 2017, was diagnosed with HER2-positive OCCC at FIGO stage IIIC. She was treated with oral pyrotinib (400 mg/day in 21-day cycles) starting on November 27, 2018. Imaging assessments were conducted every 2 to 4 treatment cycles. Best response by response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST) 1.1 were partial response. However, on March 30, 2021, the patient was assessed using contrast-enhance CT and found to have progressive disease with liver metastases. Subsequently, on April 26, 2021, the patient underwent liver microwave ablation and ultrasound-guided liver biopsy. The immunohistochemistry results of the liver biopsy showed the origin of the disease to be ovarian. Therefore, the disease was identified as HER2-positive OCCC at FIGO stage IVB. Conclusions Progression-free survival (PFS) in second-line chemotherapy for patients with recurrent OC ranges from 3.8 to 11.3 months. In the case of this patient, treatment with pyrotinib yielded a PFS of 28 months, which was a promising result for the use of pyrotinib in treating HER2-positive OC.
