Major stressful life events and other risk factors for first admission with mania
TL;DR: The occurrence of death in the family and the experience of major life events are associated with increased risk of first admission with bipolar disorder, and the susceptibility to major life stressors of inducing mania does not seem to change throughout life.

TL;DR: The existence of an association between atopic disorders in general and asthma in particular and the risk of developing schizophrenia is indicated, adding to a growing body of literature suggesting the possible involvement of immune processes in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia.

Association Between Parental Hospital-Treated Infection and the Risk of Schizophrenia in Adolescence and Early Adulthood
TL;DR: This study assesses maternal infection during pregnancy and maternal as well as paternal infection in general as predictors of schizophrenia in their offspring and finds a slightly increased risk to be associated with prenatal infection exposure.
