Inter-satellite optical wireless communication system design and simulation
TL;DR: An ultra-high bit-rate inter-satellite optical wireless communication (IsOWC) system is proposed, which uses coherent optical quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation technique and the authors have proposed a novel QPSK modulation technique for the design of IsOWC system for achieving higher coverage distance and data rate.

A comparative study on routing protocols for VANETs.
Suman Malik,Prasant Kumar Sahu +1 more
TL;DR: The overall performance evaluation of two existing routing protocols namely, Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) for VANETs shows that a combination of proper channel model together with an efficient routing protocol enhance the link throughput of the VANet for a fixed network size.

Brillouin-Based Distributed Temperature Sensor Employing Pulse Coding
TL;DR: In this paper, a distributed temperature sensor based on spontaneous Brillouin scattering and employing optical pulse coding was implemented and characterized using a direct-detection receiver, and the SNR enhancement provided by coding was analyzed.
Distributed temperature sensor system based on raman scattering using correlation-codes
Marcelo A. Soto,Prasant Kumar Sahu,Stefano Faralli,Gabriele Bolognini,F. Di Pasquale,B. Nebendahl,C. Rueck +6 more
TL;DR: A distributed sensor system employing spontaneous Raman scattering with use of correlation-coding techniques and a single-detector scheme is discussed and experimentally characterised.

- 01 Dec 2015
TL;DR: A high speed inter-satellite optical wireless communication system is designed with space and polarization diversity techniques, designed, simulated and analyzed for a link distance of 6,000 km and provides an improvement of data rate of 1.35 times to that of the previously proposed work.
