Jayashree Sen,Pranab Kumar Nag +1 more
TL;DR: A cross-sectional study examined the human susceptibility of a sample farmworker in eastern India, who were exposed to the tropical hot outdoor environment during paddy and potato cropping activities, and found a sizeable number of farmworkers manifested moderate to high intensity of heat-related symptoms.

Effectiveness of human-thermal indices: Spatio–temporal trend of human warmth in tropical India
Jayashree Sen,Pranab Kumar Nag +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a set of human heat stress and strain indices have been developed to ascertain the thresholds of human health and wellbeing, which are broadly grouped as direct (climatic), rational (energy balance), perception (sensation voting, e.g., PMV) indices and CFD simulations.

Climate-induced thermoregulatory responses in a non-linear thermal environment: investigating the inter-dependencies using a facile artificial neural network-based predictive strategy.
Jhilly Dasgupta,Pranab Kumar Nag +1 more
TL;DR: The reasonably accurate results affirmed the suitability of ANN as a pragmatic technique that could elucidate heat-induced ergonomic challenges.

Human energy utilization and effectiveness in small and marginal farm holdings
Tandra Mondal,Pranab Kumar Nag +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the extent of use tools and machinery among the rice farmers of the state of West Bengal, India, was analyzed and it revealed that the total number of man-days involved in paddy cultivation was 120-140 per ha, i.e., 900-1000 man-hours depending upon the availability of labour, tools, and machinery used for individual operation.
