New computational approach for exergy and entropy analysis of nanofluid under the impact of Lorentz force through a porous media

Entropy generation minimization and binary chemical reaction with Arrhenius activation energy in MHD radiative flow of nanomaterial

The purpose of the present study is investigating the heat transfer of non-Newtonian pseudo-plastic nanofluid flow on a moving permeable flat plate with viscous dissipation and heat absorption/generation. The flow is uniform and parallel to the moving flat plate, and both flat plate and flow are moving on the same directions. The investigated parameters in this study are power-law index, permeability parameter, Eckert number, volume fraction of nanoparticles, nanoparticles type, velocity ratio and heat absorption/generation parameter. The nanoparticles used in this paper are Al2O3, TiO2, Cu and CuO dispersed in sodium carboxymethyl cellulose/water as the base fluid. By using suitable transformations, the governing partial differential equations are converted into the ordinary differential equations, and after that, the resulting ODEs are solved with Runge–Kutta-Fehlberg fourth–fifth-order numerical method. The results of this investigation showed that heat transfer of Newtonian and non-Newtonian nanofluids in the presence of viscous dissipation and generation/absorption of heat has an interesting behavior: For Newtonian fluid, by increasing the amounts of high-conductive nanoparticles to carrying fluid, a higher heat transfer is not obtained. For instance, copper nanoparticles, despite having highest thermal conductivity compared to other nanoparticles, show the lowest local Nusselt number. However, for pseudo-plastic non-Newtonian nanofluids the observed trend was reversed. Furthermore, in both Newtonian and non-Newtonian nanofluids, the local Nusselt number decreased, by increasing injection parameter, heat generation or volume fraction of nanoparticles (in high Eckert numbers). That is while, by enhancing the heat absorption, velocity ratio, suction parameter or volume fraction of nanoparticles (in low Eckert number), the local Nusselt number augments.

In this article, natural convection 3D magneto hydrodynamic flow and heat transfer of MoS2–Ag/ ethylene glycol-water (50–50%) hybrid Nano fluid along a vertical stretching surface in the attendance of variable thermal conductivity, non-linear thermal radiation and nanoparticle shape factor has been analyzed using Runge–Kutta Fehlberg fifth order (RKF 5) numerical method. The impact of changing different parameters and nanoparticles shape, named Bricks, Cylinders, Platelets and Blades on temperature and velocity distribution has been explored. Outputs demonstrate Lorentz force produced by increasing Hartman number (Ha) causes reduction in velocity profile. Increasing thermal radiation and shape factor caused increase in temperature profile and Nusselt number (Nu). The impact of hybrid nanoparticles on increasing Nusselt number is more than nanoparticle. Furthermore, validation of obtained results indicates the high accuracy of solving method employed in this paper.

Natural convection MHD flow due to MoS2–Ag nanoparticles suspended in C2H6O2H2O hybrid base fluid with thermal radiation

The present analysis concentrates to examine the influence of both thermal and solutal stratification on magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) nanofluid flow along an exponentially stretching sheet. Moreover, simultaneous effects of mixed convection and viscous dissipation are also analyzed to determine the thermal conductivity within the restricted domain. Energy and concentration equation consist of two important slip mechanisms, namely: the Brownian motion of nanoparticles and the thermophoresis due to concentration difference. By the mean of compatible similarity transformed, a system of PDEs is converted into the system of nonlinear ODEs. The resulting nonlinear ODEs are successfully solved via the implicit finite difference method (FDM). Obtained numerical solutions are plotted for each profile for different and converging values of including parameters. To validate the results, numerical values of Nusselt number are compared with the existing literature for a particular case. Obtained results present the significant impact of each parameter on temperature and concentration. Nanofluid flow behaviour is also observed via velocity profile.

Mixed convection flow of thermally stratified MHD nanofluid over an exponentially stretching surface with viscous dissipation effect

The present analysis examines the combine effects of thermal radiation and velocity slip along a convectively nonlinear stretching surface. Moreover, MHD effects are also considered near the stagnation point flow of Casson nanofluid. Slipped effects are considered with the porous medium to reduce the drag reduction at the surface of the sheet. Main structure of the system is based upon the system of partial differential equations attained in the form of momentum, energy, and concentration equations. To determine the similar solution system of PDEs is rehabilitated into the set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by employing compatible similarity transformation. Important physical parameters are acquired through obtained differential equations. To determine the influence of emerging parameters, resulting set of ODE’s in term of unknown function of velocity, temperature, and concentration are successfully solved via Keller’s box-scheme. All the obtained unknown functions are discussed in detail after plotting the results against each physical parameter. To analyze the behavior at the surface: skin friction, local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are also illustrated against the velocity ratio parameter A, Brownian motion Nb, thermophoresis Nt, and thermal radiation parameters R. Results obtained from the set of equations described that skin friction is decreasing function of A, and local Nusselt and Sherwood number demonstrate the significant influenced by Brownian motion Nb, thermophoresis Nt, and radiation parameters R.
