Susceptibility rates of clinically important bacteria collected from intensive care units against colistin, carbapenems, and other comparative agents: Results from surveillance of multicenter antimicrobial resistance in Taiwan (SMART)
Chih-Cheng Lai,Ying Sheng Chen,Nan Yao Lee,Hung-Jen Tang,Susan Shin Jung Lee,Chin Fu Lin,Po-Liang Lu,Jiunn Jong Wu,Wen Chien Ko,Wen Sen Lee,Po-Ren Hsueh +10 more
TL;DR: 8.7% of Enterobacteriaceae isolates from ICU patients recovered from patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs) in Taiwan were not susceptible to carbapenem, and blaKPC and blAOXA48-like were found among three and one carbapanem-insusceptible K. cloacae and A. baumannii complex isolates.
In Vitro Susceptibilities of Invasive Isolates of Candida Species: Rapid Increase in Rates of Fluconazole Susceptible-Dose Dependent Candida glabrata Isolates
TL;DR: Analysis of the fluconazole susceptibilities of 204 bloodstream Candida glabrata isolates revealed a rapid shift from susceptible to susceptible-dose dependent.

Pneumonia caused by Aeromonas species in Taiwan, 2004-2011.
TL;DR: Aeromonas species should be considered as one of the causative pathogens of severe pneumonia, especially in immunocompromised patients, and should be recognized as a cause of drowning-associated pneumonia.
Antimicrobial resistance of Moraxella catarrhalis isolates in Taiwan.
Shih Fen Hsu,Yi Tsung Lin,Te-Li Chen,Te-Li Chen,L. K. Siu,Po-Ren Hsueh,Shih Tse Huang,Chang-Phone Fung,Chang-Phone Fung +8 more
TL;DR: Although amoxicillin + clavulanate remains the antimicrobial therapy of choice for M. catarrhalis infections, continued surveillance of antimicrobial susceptibility and application of control measures against further transmission are required to inhibit the emergence of the resistant strains.

Antimicrobial resistance and serotype distribution of Streptococcus pneumoniae strains isolated in southern Taiwan.
TL;DR: The antimicrobial susceptibilities and serotypes of 115 Streptococcus pneumonia strains isolated in southern Taiwan from January 1990 to December 1993 were determined and the high level of antimicrobial resistance mandates the continuous surveillance of resistance and the strict control of antibiotic use in Taiwan.
