Reference genome assemblies reveal the origin and evolution of allohexaploid oat
Honghai Yan,Laichun Guo,Cao Deng,Chun-long Wang,Yubo Wang,Lipeng Kang,Pingping Zhou,Ka Yun Yu,Xiaolong Dong,Xiaomeng Liu,Zongyi Sun,Yunjuan Peng,Jun Zhao,Di Deng,Yinghong Xu,Ying Li,Qiantao Jiang,Yan Li,Liming Wei,Jirui Wang,Jian Ma,Ming Hao,Wei Liu,Houyang Kang,Zheng Song Peng,Dengcai Liu,Jizeng Jia,You-Li Zheng,Tao Ma,Yuming Wei,Fei Liu,Changzhong Ren +31 more
TL;DR: In this article , a reference-quality genome assembly of hulless common oat, comprising 21 pseudomolecules with a total length of 10.76 Gb and contig N50 of 75.27 Mb, was generated using ultralong sequencing and Hi-C technologies.

Phylogenetic analysis of the genus Avena based on chloroplast intergenic spacer psbA-trnH and single-copy nuclear gene Acc1.
Honghai Yan,Bernard R. Baum,Pingping Zhou,Jun Zhao,Yuming Wei,Changzhong Ren,Fang-Qiu Xiong,Gang Liu,Lin Zhong,Gang Zhao,Yuanying Peng +10 more
TL;DR: Phylogenic analyses based on the chloroplast intergenic spacer psbA-trnH confirmed that the A genome diploid might be the maternal donor of species of the genus Avena, and three haplotypes of the Acc1 gene have been detected among the ACD genome hexaploid species.

Position Validation of the Dwarfing Gene Dw6 in Oat (Avena sativa L.) and Its Correlated Effects on Agronomic Traits.
Honghai Yan,Kaiquan Yu,Yinghong Xu,Pingping Zhou,Jun Zhao,Li Ying,Xiaomeng Liu,Ren Changzhong,Yuanying Peng +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an F6:8 recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from the cross between WAOAT2132 (Dw6) and Caracas along with the two parents were used to evaluate the genetic effects of Dw6 dwarfing gene on plant height and other agronomic traits in oat (Avena sativa L.) across three environments, and develop closely linked markers for marker-assisted selection (MAS) for Dw6.
New evidence concerning the genome designations of the AC(DC) tetraploid Avena species
Honghai Yan,Zichao Ren,Di Deng,Yang Kehan,Yang Chuang,Pingping Zhou,Charlene P. Wight,Changzhong Ren,Yuanying Peng +8 more
TL;DR: Results provide robust evidence for the presence of the D genome in all three tetraploids, strongly suggesting that the genomic constitution of these species is DC and not AC, as had been thought previously.

Determination method for content of beta-glucan in cereal crop grains
Peng Yuanying,Tang Xueqin,Honghai Yan,Pingping Zhou,Jun Zhao,Wang Zhiying,Wei Yuming +6 more
- 23 Apr 2014
TL;DR: In this article, a determination method for the content of beta-glucan in cereal crop grains was proposed, which is suitable for the requirements of industrial production of small-amount multi-batch long-time and continuous determination of rare and precious species resources.
