Virtual capacitance based control for MMC-HVDC systems connected with weak AC grids
TL;DR: In this article , a virtual capacitance based control for MMC-HVDC (MMC-High Voltage Direct Current) systems is proposed to increase the frequency support ability and enhance the system stability when the receiving-end ac grid is weak.

Scheme and Operation Characteristic Analysis of Large Sending Terminal DC Grid Based on Flexible DC in West China
Huiling Li,Zhan Shu,Chao Zheng,Song Yunting,Ping Ding,Xinglei Chen +5 more
- 01 Nov 2019
TL;DR: A ± 1000kV large west sending terminal DC power grid based on VSC-HVDC is constructed, by which with rich distributed resources in West China can be centrally dispatched to East China, avoiding the uncertainty impact of renewable energy power generation on power system stability.

Review of Equivalent Methods for Power System
Jiawei Zhu,Yalou Li,Ping Ding +2 more
- 01 Apr 2023
TL;DR: In this article , the basic principles, advantages and disadvantages of three types of equivalent methods, static equivalents, dynamic equivalents and frequency-dependent network equivalents, are introduced, and the development of equivalent software, summarizes the problems existing in equivalent methods at present and points out possible research directions in the future.
Optimal Operation Method of Power System With Large-scale New Energy and Storage Based on Multi- Zoning
Ping Ding,Xuelong Ma,Ziqi Zhu +2 more
- 01 Apr 2022
TL;DR: Based on clock frequency simulation, the authors in this paper created a long-time multi-zone production scheduling entity model in which new energy and energy storage operate harmoniously in the power network and put forward the best operation countermeasures for NE and ES in different regions.
