Relevance of molecular weight of chitosan and its derivatives and their antioxidant activities in vitro
TL;DR: Low molecular weight chitosan had stronger scavenging effect on O(2)(.-) and (-.)OH than high molecular weight ChITosan and sulfated chitOSan derivatives and CTS4 showed more considerable ferrous ion-chelating potency than others.
302
Novel derivatives of chitosan and their antifungal activities in vitro
TL;DR: Three kinds of Schiff bases of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCTS) were prepared, and their antifungal activities were assessed according to Jasso de Rodríguez's method.
183
Salt-assisted acid hydrolysis of chitosan to oligomers under microwave irradiation.
TL;DR: FTIR spectral analyses demonstrated that a significantly shorter time was required to obtain a satisfactory molecular weight by the microwave irradiation-assisted inorganic salt method than by microwave irradiated without inorganic salts and conventional technology.

Synthesis and antifungal properties of 6-amino-6-deoxyinulin, a kind of precursors for facile chemical modifications of inulin
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors modify inulin at its primary hydroxyls to give 6-amino-6-deoxyinulin, allowing for facile chemical manipulation of inulin to encourage the employment of this currently underutilized biodegradable and environmentally benign resource.
37
The release behavior of inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus in sediment during disturbance
TL;DR: In this paper, the NH4N/NO3-N/PO43− was measured in a tide flat in Huiquan Bay, Qingdao, China in January 2004 to simulate the exchange of NH4-N between sediments and surface water.
