Meta-analysis of the priming effect on native soil organic carbon in response to glucose amendment across soil depths
Gokul Gaudel,Megharaj Poudel,Peter Semba Mosongo,Li Xing,Li Xing,Abraham Mulu Oljira,Yuming Zhang,Fiston Bizimana,Binbin Liu,Yuying Wang,Wenxu Dong,Jean Yves Uwamungu,Chunsheng Hu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of exogenous glucose-induced priming effect on native soil organic carbon (SOC) influenced by soil properties across soil depths, weather factors in different ecosystems and experimental variables.

Long-Term Impacts of Different Cropping Patterns on Soil Physico-Chemical Properties and Enzyme Activities in the Low Land Plain of North China
TL;DR: In this paper , a long-term field experiment was conducted at the Nanpi Agro-Ecological Station in Hebei Province, China to assess the effects of the different cropping patterns on soil properties and enzyme activities, and the results indicated that soil available phosphorous (P) and available potassium (K) concentrations at 0-20 cm were greater than those of the subsurfaces.
Responses of Nitrous Oxide Emissions and Bacterial Communities to Experimental Freeze–Thaw Cycles in Contrasting Soil Types
Wenyan Li,Peter Semba Mosongo,Wenxu Dong,A. Timilsina,Ruibo Sun,Fenghua Wang,Anna Walkiewicz,Binbin Liu,Chunsheng Hu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , a laboratory incubation experiment that included freeze-thaw cycles (FTC), freezing (F) and control (CK) treatments was performed on three typical Chinese upland soils, namely, fluvo-aquic soil (FS), black soil (BS) and loess soil (LS).
The improved N2O microelectrode calibration method significantly improves the sensitivity of the sensor
Li Jing Xing,Gokul Gaudel,Fiston Bizimana,Peter Semba Mosongo,Yuming Zhang,Zulfiqar Ali Sahito,Lijuan Zhang +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors improved and verified a microelectrode calibration method based on selecting appropriate media and optimal electrolyte concentration for measuring soil N2O emissions in semi-arid agro-ecosystems.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Response to Fertilizer Application and Soil Moisture in Dry Agricultural Uplands of Central Kenya
Peter Semba Mosongo,David E. Pelster,Xiaoxin Li,Gokul Gaudel,Yuying Wang,Suying Chen,Wenyan Li,David M. Mburu,Chunsheng Hu +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors measured GHG emissions from three maize (Zea mays) growing seasons in central Kenya and found that the average fertilizer induced emission factor (0.36 ± 0.03%) was roughly one third the default value of 1%.
