Bone architecture assessment with measures of complexity.
TL;DR: Based on the symbol-encoded transformed CT-images, five measures of complexity were developed which quantify the structural composition of the trabecular bone and determines the bone architecture as a whole.

Long range node-strut analysis of trabecular bone microarchitecture
TL;DR: A morphometric measure of trabecular bone microarchitecture, called mean node strength (NdStr), was proposed in this article, which is part of a newly developed approach called long range node-strut analysis.

Kullback-leibler and renormalized entropies: Applications to electroencephalograms of epilepsy patients. Authors' reply
K. Kopitzki,Peter C. Warnke,Peter Saparin,Juergen Kurths,Jens Timmer,R. Quian Quiroga,J. Arnhold,Klaus Lehnertz,Peter Grassberger +8 more
TL;DR: It is argued that the general considerations undertaken by the authors and the experimental results do not justify the conclusion that renormalized entropy is closely related to the standard Kullback-Leibler entropy.

Long range node-strut analysis of trabecular bone microarchitecture
TL;DR: In this paper, a morphometric measure of trabecular bone microarchitecture, called mean node strength (NdStr), is presented. But the method is based on a single image and does not take into account a much larger neighborhood.
