TL;DR: Indigenous peoples' collective right to their land and territories is the most controversial of all human rights issues as discussed by the authors... Control over indigenous lands, water and resources is also by far the issue that gives rise to most violent conflicts and to human rights violations committed by governments, police, mining companies, logging companies, etc.
